When the seed beads are placed side by side with holes facing upward, the measurement commonly stated (1 inch) is accurate.

I'm a huge Preciosa girl myself, primarily because I can buy them in huge hanks. I'm all for quantity, but I also love the rounded, more traditional shape of Czech beads. As for Japanese seed beads, I have more Toho than Miyuki--except for 15s because seriously, Czech 15s are ridiculously tiny. Preciosa 11/0 is always my go-to seed bead. For 15s, it's always Miyuki for me. :D For 8/0, Toho. Almost all of my 8s are Toho. I'm odd that way. :)

This video really gave me a great deal of clarification and light bulbs were going off like crazy! I’m a real noob so, bear with me. I’m just curious how do you select thread, wire or fishing line?And size or weight is based on what criteria? Thread types to use and what types of fishing line... for instance, fishing line is by “pound test” How does that equate to the type of project? Then there is jewelry wire and the stretchy stuff... what is for what? Sorry, a little bit of a fractured inquiry but, I think you get the drift. Appreciate the help!! 😉
@OdinsMusings4 жыл бұрын
No worries at all! I actually have made videos on threads as luck would have it! as a general guide: I like to use fishing line like Fireline for projects that need heavy support like bracelets and necklace ropes. I choose weights based on how large the beads are. But generally I only use 6lb because I am cheap and have better things to spend my money on that twelve different spools of thread. Nylon and "soft" threads are good for eeeny bety details in bezels and earring. And the stretchy is good for one strand bracelets. The clear fishing line like monofilament I use to make 3D figurines. If you want a more detailed shopping guide, here's my best two videos on the subject: For fishing line: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3WqgGawg9admZY For Nylon: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmW2iHqEYppoY9E

Where do you usually buy your bulk staple colors from? Are there any lbs's left in Maine besides caravan which is along way from local to me !!!
@OdinsMusings6 жыл бұрын
AuraCrystals is generally where I go to for big bulk colors, as well as Caravan's online shope. There's Butler Hill Beads in Auburn, no idea if that's close to you or not. But as far as I know, That's it in Maine

I have a request. Would you please do a tutorial on a S - Dragon, sometimes called Shinies. I found free written instructions on Pinterest, but in Russian, lol, can't read it. And I'm not professional enough to just look at it and make it, but you are. Please please please, I want to make one so badly.!
@OdinsMusings6 жыл бұрын
I actually found this one on DeviantArt in English. The instructions look pretty good, but I am sure you could message the designer with questions: www.deviantart.com/rrkra/art/S-Dragon-Tutorial-263218162

Well, call me stupid, I can't learn from that. It doesn't give enough info. Please do a tutorial.
@OdinsMusings6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately since it is someone else's design, I cannot make a tutorial on it. It would be different if it was a basic stitch or a technique, but this one is treading lines I am not comfortable crossing. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

There's a Czech brand called Jablonex which exits in my surrounding market, could you give some opinions on this? cause non of the brands you mentioned in the video is on the market I have to buy them online and the color is always a issue buying online~ many thanks~
@OdinsMusings5 жыл бұрын
Afaik, Jablonex is owned by Preciosa since 2009. Their seed beads should be of similar size. Preciosa's 11/0's are very similar to Japanese, but their 15's are much smaller. Here are a few links for more reading: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preciosa_(corporation) traditional-czech-beads.com/ad-campaign
