I definitely see a modder coming out with a self propelled yarder now that this has come out. Instead of one you pull behind a tractor. Man this is cool, been at work for the past couple days. Finally got me a day off, definitely going to check this out later. Getting Axe Men vibes with this yarder 😂

I played around with the yarder lining it up with a container. Worked well without having to use a claw machine to fill it

The weight limit I think relates to the lift capacity of the support wire. If you only lift the front of a log to clear stumps the number and weight of a logs is split between the support wire and the ground so larger logs can be dragged if they do not leave the ground. Of course if you cross water the log floats so in theory any number of logs can be dragged across water.

Unfortunately that’s not how it works. I’ve been messing around with the expansion and yarders especially, it’s purely related to the mass of the tree. Not the weight the wire experiences

I’ve been wanting to use the new log containers for easier log hauling, but how do I move the containers around? Surely not just with a giant forklift? Isn’t there a truck or a trailer they fit on?

One of the new Lowloaders says in its description that it's suitable for containers. I've found if a lowloader is long enough for the container you want to use, you can use a fork lift to put the container on the trailer, and then the trailer straps will hold it in place.

I was able to use the yarder to pull logs right into the big woodchipper which is pretty cool. Unfortunately wood chips aren't really worth the effort.

What’s the most profitable tree ? And is there any new trees ?

There are three new trees, really what’s going to make a tree profitable is the height of the tree. Giants has released a chart of all the tree types in the game. They added Giant Sequoyah trees, also known as Redwoods. As they are a protected species, only use them for reforestation, do NOT use them to make money. They are the largest type of tree and can’t be harvested with anything other than a Chainsaw. Though they do not make a lot of money or provide lots of wood because of their protected status. So don’t expect them to be the perfect tree farm tree.

Have you noticed a way to turn the yarder off? It runs as long as the line is in the air? So I guess it never needs fuel and neither does the carriage .. good I guess but I’d like to shut it off while I’m filling trailers or listening to the loud ass birds 😂

Hi I have an issue with the yarder on the trailer. When i started playing the game I was using it and with its 3T capacity I was moving whole trees up to 2.8T, But for some strange reason it wont even lift a 1.4T tree now. The moment it lifts a meter off the ground it disconnects. Ive tried a new save with no mods and still the same. Its really annoying because i love using it but now i might as well just use a tractor and winch. Has anyone else had the issue?

They had me paying 20€ for a dlc that is almost unplayable bc of terrible physics😂
