Every time I hear this theme I think of Summer afternoons at my Grandmother's house. How we loved the villainy of Roger.

Great memories. I'm going to remember Guiding Light for this era, and not the disaster it became under Ellen Wheeler and her "production model."

Theme reminds me of my mother. She loved this theme. She died May 5, 2000.

I loved it when they showed all the actors at the end.

Its interesting they kept Leonard Stabb in the closing shot because this was well after his hang gliding accident. The Hart character was off the show by this point

wow, this brings back memories. I've forgotten about lots of these people. It changed alot after Maureen Bauer died.

This theme song is what is played right after someone passes. They see all the main people they interacted with on Earth thru the years.

I kinda wonder why Rick Hurst didn't become a household name. He, to me, seemed like he shoulda gone on to bigger and bigger things like Allison Janney.

@antonzap even though that 'production model' stabilized with less jerky camera movement, i still wish they hadn't 'tried' that..it ain't been done since and i'm 99.9% positive it won't be done again.....

All the Soaps beefed up their black characters during this time bc Y&R already at #1 leaped even further with the popularity of Drucilla, Neil, & Olivia

this would have been great if only they would stop that damn preview talking😣...there were times you'd get lucky enough to hear & witness just the beautiful melody 🎶... extremely well orchestrated.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I would have liked it better if they kept the key of the closing theme in A major with no key change and let it fade. I watched an atwt closing credits video and there was no key change in it. just remained in the key of C

Who is that nice-looking guy at 1:55? I went and read the cast list carefully and it appears they omitted him. Was that the actor who played "Hart Jessop" at this time? I do remember his face...
@JasonAlredge14 жыл бұрын
Too bad there weren't more black characters on the show. That happened in the early 1990s and ended in the late 1990s. The resurge of black characters on Guiding Light happened when Rick married that young woman, Mel. That was in 2002.

The only good thing Jill Farren Phelps ever did was geting rid of Reva Shane

and, unfortunately, she eventually came back..she ain't no Bert Bauer - that's for sure!.......

Danny Hill totally agree with u. It all started to go downhill when the Bauers werent the center of the show anymore.
@dannyhill87974 жыл бұрын
@@ON-rw5di i don't know who was worse: reva or Blake sleeping with every male member of the same family..going in that kind of direction was, imho, one of the factors that signaled the end of daytime telly as we once knew it.......
@ON-rw5di4 жыл бұрын
Danny Hill they were probably equally destroying in JFP ratings fishing. The best soap in my opinion is ATWT 1975-80. The acting and drama is Oscarclass.
@mysky4 жыл бұрын
Jill Farren Phelps did not get rid of Reva. Kim Zimmer left the show in July 1990. Jill didn’t become executive producer until July 1991.
