Guiding Light never ages. I have never gotten bored watching it, like other TV shows.

"It's time I started mingling." Ahhh, Beverlee McKinsey as the legendary Baroness Alexandra Spaulding. Her first five words are just perfect for this.

This show was so good during the 80s. I first got into it watching it with my Grandma, and then I'd watch what I could catch after school, and of course during summer break, lol. So nostalgic seeing these episodes.

❤ Springfield Illinois, Guiding Light 🕯️ Sadly it will be cancelled by September 2009. We will always have the Light House, as long as we remember to follow the Guiding Light. Daytime greetings from coastal Mississippi 🎉

My favorite soap intro ever- Vanessa and Nola dressed alike and looking like two thirds of the Andrews sisters. lol.

Truman Capote also had his Mask Ball where New York's Movers & Shakers attended. The Masks were designed by Halston who attended the party although he didn't get an official Invite. Vanessa and Billy were a wreck without each other. Kind of like Sharon & Phil Mitchell are on Eastenders or even Katherine "Kat" Slater and Alfred "Alfie" Moon her "Man On The Moon."

Any more old ones? I loved this show in the 70s and 80s - Philip, Beth, Mindy, Rick, Jesse, Angie, Lewises and Spauldings, etc.

As great as Beverly was, she had some choice words for the behind the scenes “administration” after she left.

If you put Ian Beale, Mark Fowler, Sharon Mitchell, and Michelle Fowler from Eastenders in this enviornment they would be blown away. I would have loved for The Four Musketeers to have lived in Albert Square in the 1980's, it made Fifth street look like Sesame Street. I had no idea that William Roerick and Chris Bernau were both Gay. Also was Alan upset because he felt he was losing Phillip. I only started watching in 1995 but Alan had this neediness about him that was very hard to deal with and Phillip in his own way paid over and over.
