❤ Guiding Light, CBS, Springfield Illinois. My heart and soul was attached to this drama from 1990 to series finale. After Katrina, the cast came down here to Biloxi, as part of Shine your Light. 🎉 We all can be Lighthouses if we allow our beacons to shine. And remember...Love will save the world as long as we follow the Guiding Light 🕯️. .... Salutations from coastal Mississippi 🧔🐻👋🤠🌎🥳

I have only watched Guiding Light since March 2009 and I was moved to tears by this beautiful Tribute (more than the one they showed at the Emmys. I hope we never forget that there is always room for good stories in any medium. May the Guiding Light shine on in everyone's memory. Thank you so much for doing this.

Angara thank you so much for that. Your beautiful tribute allowed me to cry for the loss of my lovely Guiding Light for the first time. I am 62 years old and have watched GL on and off since it first went on CBS-TV in 1952. I came on this last time for the Oralia story which TPTB ended up trashing just as the daytime emmy show trashed their tribute to GL. Perhaps videos such as yours and new web series such as Venice will show these corporate troglodites how venal and yesterday they really are.

Thank you for making such a lovely tribute to my favorite show. I am so sad that GUIDING LIGHT is being cancelled by CBS in Sept 2009. GL & its actors have seen me through scholastic disasters, medical crises & employment snafus. I have had the honor and glorious opportunity to meet some of my favorite GL actors at various appearances over the years [Vincent Irizarry called me in the ICU while I was undergoing & recovering from neurosurgery] & I just want them to know how much GL means to me

Thank you for doing this, it was great to see a lot of the people who were in the show when I first started watching it. I was trying to remember if I heard it on radio but all I could remember for a soap opera then was Stella Dallas. I love Guiding Light and I will miss it terribly. At least there are all the clips on youtube to watch hopefully forever.

I just wish they would have found a way to incorporate GL's credo into the last episode: There is a destiny that makes us brothers; no one goes that way alone; all that we bring into the lives of others; comes back into our own.

It is a symbol of changing times when an institution like daytime televsion is suffereing from such a loss. I have been a fan for years but these shows have alientated a lot of fans due to a barrage of "antiheroes" and bad storyines that are just simply not up to par with previous years. Characters we grew up with are not relatable or have changed because of bad storytelling and bad continuity. Daytime has lost its identity and I believe most viewer of anyone of these shows would agree.
