It certainly is hard to get used to due to having to manage the Initiative bar and the movement aspects of it! There's nothing wrong with starting again with one you prefer the look of 😊 go Necro is you want light armor but still pretty tanky! Ranger and Guardian are good options as well for easier classes with medium and light armor respectively 😊 Let me know how you get on!
@tritonus14153 жыл бұрын
@@aknsanl4223 Thief is a great profession, alhtough maybe not suited for your first playthrough. You are squishier, but make up for it by having stealth, mobility, and evades. However, this class requires you to look at what the enemy is doing and react accordingly. If you want a class that can facetank, I would recommend the necromancer and (to a certain extent) the warrior. And if you don't want to put any effort at all, just do what all other newbies do and play ranger with longbow (booring). If you wanna be OP tho, play guardian aka Anets golden child. Support Firebrand is always welcome, and Dragonhunter has the highest DPS in the game.

If you're thinking about starting gw2 in 2021 but you're unsure, try it for sure. the game feels more alive than it did months after launch, no kidding. no zone is dead, there's people EVERYWHERE and the community is super helpful in general. it's also not a nightmare to catch up on or miss out on. there's 2 expansions, one that adds a hang glider to use and the other adds mounts. besides that there is no gear treadmill so you don't have to catch up on anything starting fresh :)

Honestly new players should play and pick the classes they like the most. Don't be scared to pick up a class because someone says its hard for beginners. You are right that everyone should pick whatever class they want but at least they should know what to expect. If a new player starts with a hard class and they struggle with it they might get to dislike the game and don't even bother to try others. They might think that all classes are going to be this hard. So its better if they knew from the beginning that its going to be a hard class and that there are more beginner friendly ones too if needed.

I think the 9 classes shown in "what to play" are in proper order for my self and for my opnion. I mean you have heady, medium and light classes from up to bottom and then from left to right you have easy, medium and hard clases compared to each other. I have found most people find Ranger easiest, with little effort they can get in to Thief but Engineer is hard to wrap their mind around and often is "too comples" This also works for the light and heavy, where Necroamncer is easiest being so tanky and all the minions also. Elementalist being simple to understand and Mesmer being hardest for its complexitiy and it is something you don't much see in games if any. While for Heavy Warrior smash, Guardian protects and Revenant is the fuck :D To sum it up. From left to right you have easy medium hard classes and from up to bottom you have heady medium and light classes. Heavy classes are brawlers up close who smahs things medium classes are between the light and heavy classes light classes are mostly casters and more class canons. Expectation is Necromancer which is the tankies fucker in the game imo :^) with "I went to shroud and got my hp back to full and now life steal from you" to all that other stuff.... I never had problems staying alive as Necromancer ^_^ which is also why Necromancer is the easiest calss I can recomend.

I actually find Necromancer quite difficult in terms of achieving a certain flow in your "rotation" (even though GW2 seems to be more open about stuff like that). Most of necro skills have a really long description with various forms of condition damage and I just can't seem to get my head around how to use them in the most effective way. Yes, Necromancer is damn hard to kill and can take lots of damage, but besides that I find it to be quite a challenging class if you want to have that certain flow that classes like elementalist give you immediately. Also, most animations are rather slow on Necro which makes it harder for me to come up with a "strategy" or a somewhat fluid rotation. On the other hand, I find revenant quite intuitive, I wouldn't necessarily say it's easy but to me, it just feels "right".

Open world and story content doesn't really start getting challenging until the expansions and by then you'll have plenty of experience with the class 😊 I agree that the Ranger can be a little bit dull so I get where you're coming from on that! As the Thief and Mesmer are the ones that speak to you, I definitely would recommend going with one of them and as they are a lot more involved, you should find them a lot more interesting 😊 personally I would go with the Mesmer as it's really fun and unique (also my favourite as you rightly pointed out) but go with the one you like the look of 😄

That's awesome, let me know how you get on 😃 quick note on the Mesmer, Greatsword is an absolute must! For your other weapon set, dual swords for maximum damage but if you're too squishy for melee, I like scepter and pistol for a complete ranged option 😊 Chronomancer is great so would definitely recommend going with that elite spec once you hit max level and move on to the expansions!
@blckdrke80503 жыл бұрын
How do those elite specs work? Do I unlock them when I level up, and will I have to choose one of them or will it just add new abilitys when I unlock it, letting me combine abilitys from different specs? Also do you recommend using the level boost that you get from buying the expansions?
@HeroicFlamingo3 жыл бұрын
Assuming you have the expansions, when you hit level 80 and max out all of the other skill and spec lines, you can start spending your hero points on the elite spec lines. It takes a little while as each elite spec takes 250 hero points to max out. Once you've started unlocking it, you will be able to put the elite spec in your third specialization slot. This means you can still pair it with two other specializations but the elite specs give you extra skills, weapons and normally change the profession mechanics as well ☺️ with regards to the level booster, I would say use it but not on your main character. There's something about a boosted character that you don't connect with in the same way. Use it on a class that you want level 80 but can't be bothered to level it 😃

@HeroicFlamingo3 жыл бұрын
Hey man ☺️ as your wife is playing as a ranger, Guardian potentially would be a good match as you can tank the enemies and buff yourself up ☺️ however, if you're not sold on that class, you could ask her to stick on a tanky pet like a bear and play as a spellcaster as you have suggested! Mesmer is a hell of a lot of fun but can take a bit of practice and be a bit squishy! I would say Necromancer is always a good shout. It's quick and easy to learn, enjoyable to play and surprisingly tanky for a spellcaster 😃

Just started playing this game today! I picked a guardian as my first character. Looking forward to sinking hundreds of hours into this game! Would you recommend getting the expansions or are they not worth it?
@HeroicFlamingo3 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Guardian is a great choice 😃 you don't need to get the expansions straight away but I would definitely recommend getting them! Path of Fire is a lot better than Heart of Thorns but you can get them both together pretty cheap so it's definitely worth it 😊 once you're level 80, the elite specializations that come with the expansions open up so many more play styles 😃

Wow this looks so much fun tho. I've never thought an mmorpg can has that much different classes and specialization and unique play style. Graphics looks legit, armor style look damn cool, I think fashion is a thing in this game, and looks a lot to explore. I've tried many mmos (teso, ffxiv, bdo, etc), however I only play wow regularly yet quit during bfa, but gw2 really grows in me and I was looking to play an mmo. I suppose it's not a p2w game either so if it's then I really would love to give it a try. For a first time player, according the impression that I had from your video, I really liked Elementalist, Necromancer, Guardian, Mesmer and Revenant. Really great video and gave me a hype to go for the game, thanks a lot!

Awesome video, do u have any recommendations for a healer class? A class that is needed and sough after for pve and pvp (like healers in other games are rarer and more needed)
@HeroicFlamingo3 жыл бұрын
If you want to be a healer, I would recommend the Ranger, Elementalist or the Guardian using the Druid, Tempest and Firebrand Elite Specs respectively 😊 those elite specs are built around healing and are very sought after in group situations 😊
@thetokenblackguy883 жыл бұрын
If you want to play healer in pvp, core guardian is getting more and more attention again lately (well deserved if I may add). It’s accessible for anyone (including f2p), reasonably easy to pick up for new players and you can have a great impact on games if your team somehow plays along

I just started playing GW2 and I leveled up a Mesmer/Chronomancer. Completed the main story and working through Path of Fire. I enjoy Chrono, but I would prefer something a little tankier/more self-sustainable for PvE and Open World. After watching a bunch of guides and gameplay videos I've narrowed it down to: Reaper/Scourge Necromancer, Renegade Revenant and Firebrand Guardian. Would love more experienced player's input, as I have a level 80 boost I'm itching to use. I'm leaning Reaper, but the other two look excellent as well.
@HeroicFlamingo3 жыл бұрын
As someone who's main character is also a Chrono, I would say that the Reaper should tick all of the boxes you are looking for! It's a lot tankier than the Mesmer and a hell of a lot of fun to play 😃

Okay after watching this video I actually deleted my Warrior and ONE of my rangers 😆😆 and made a Necromancer and a Messmer. I love rangers just because they are SO easy and I love tracking down pets and because I mostly solo, but after watching this video I decided to break out of my shell a bit and try two new classes. Im thinking Necro is similar to ranger in that I get to have "pets" and like you said Messmer just looks like fun. Hope its not too complicated to learn. Thanks for the perspective you give on classes I enjoyed it.

Super useful guide, but there might be too much info for one video. Adding time stamps help alot but each profession could have had its own video since the discussion was going to go so in-depth. And since there were extra pictures and graphics, there could have been some pictures when discussing specializations. Like showing the icon of the specialization as well as which weapons and skills were enhanced by said specialization. It is surprising how much was covered and how concisely each one was discussed. This will be a boon to new players.

Heya. Just started the game for try no4?i think 😁 never could get into it properly. Its bloody hard one. Anyways. What wep as main would be preferred for core necro? I see you using axe. But , as much as i crossed some builds, its least favorite option. Dagger or scepter being preferred for main hand. Tnx.

Hey man, I think I speak a bit more about it in this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmOUd5V4m9qdn7c 😃 There are two different types of PvP, structured PvP which is arena combat which is predominantly 5v5 but there are 2v2 arena matches as well. Then you have world PvP which is where three servers take part in a large scale war to take control of points on the map 😃

If you have a decent build, there's no reason why you can't use that for everything! However, there are certain skills and specializations which are better or worse in PvP or PvE so you will be at a disadvantage to someone who has specific builds for different game types 😃 I would say you can certainly play one class for all game modes but having a build template for PvE and one for PvP is advised 😊
