Guild Wars 2 - Teaser Trailer

True HD Resolution: The game play was played and recorded in real-time at true 1080p HD resolution, not scaled up artificially. The animated lore part of the video is produced at 1080p resolution from the ground up. All assets are created at true 1080p resolution.
Animated Portion: The animated, pre-rendered lore intro portion of the video was done completely in-house. This was not contracted out to a specialty studio that produces high-end pre-rendered videos. All of the illustrations, animation, editing, and rendering was done at ArenaNet.
In-Game Portion: The in-game part of the video is actual in-game footage. It was rendered in real-time in the game engine and recoded live using video capture hardware. Nothing was pre-rendered. All models, textures, and other assets are actual game play versions. They haven't been prettied up for marketing purposes.
Maps are works in progress, and may change to better fit game play.
The team is working hard to make the game even more beautiful for the full release!

I've actually had this game for about three weeks now. As a casual, and usually solo gamer, I really like this game for the challenging way the world is set. From the Waypoints, the intuitive AI, the Storyline that I'm immersed with and the Artwork that I get lost in; I really enjoy this game more then WoW (which I have played from BC to Cat). The Events, and the Quest system are great; and the PvP system doesn't feel rushed to top out at the max level to play.

That moment when the original Guild Wars theme kicks in is such a dopamine rush. My siblings and I spent so much time on Prophecies. Literal YEARS were spent on each of our characters, and when I found out a sequel was coming I remember counting down the days until release. I was in high school when it came out and i didn't have a PC of my own. Our old desktop gave up the ghost and died 1 month before Guild Wars 2 came out, and i remember my parents didn't want to spend money on an expensive computer just so we could play games on it. So eventually I moved on and forgot about GW2, finished school, settled down, had a kid. Now, over a decade later, KZbin brings me back here, and I remember my childhood dreams of this game. Gonna download it tonight and see what I've been missing.

@@AlperenDogan-MI well I'm enjoying it so far though there are a few things I don't like. I miss the inclusion of actual cutscenes. Having them replaced by just two character models facing each other has got me a bit underwhelmed. Also having story missions locked under level requirements that I have to grind for disincentives me from playing. Especially since usual sidequests are replaced with those little hearts that you fill up with repetitive tasks. I DO like the characters and I'm intrigued by the story and where its going. Thackeray feels like he's meant to be the new Rurik, and he's written likable enough to pull it off. The voice work is all pretty decent and I love the updated, more active combat system. I'm hoping that things will pick up more as I progress.

LOL World of Warcraft has MAYBE ~5 million active subscribers. MAYBE. Probably not even that anymore. There's a reason Blizzard doesn't release subscriber numbers anymore. As for Guild Wars 2, there were over 5 million copies sold before the base game went F2P, and I can definitely imagine that those numbers skyrocketed after it went F2P thanks to its extremely praised gameplay and business model. At peak concurrency BEFORE F2P, the game had over 460,000 online. I doubt WoW has had that since 2010-2012, except maybe on expansion release days.

Eleven plus years after release and this game is still going strong. The GW2 developers are willing to try new things and take the MMORPG genre into places that it’s never been before. Some ideas are great and others are less so, but it’s good to have something different than most other games in this genre. If only Arenanet had a marketing team and strategy, plus the budget to implement it.

3:49 never made it into the game right? I think I would remember such a thing. Maybe that was the interpretation of the dragon in the ground in Guild Wars 1 and then only later in development became Kralkatorrik which then flew away. hmm But man this was so hype. When the concept art turned into ingame graphics I was so blown away back in the day. Couldnt believe it. GW1 always had grear concept art but ingame you had to use your imagination to fill out the gaps. GW2 then just actually made them real. Still gives me goosebumps

I first made an account when living world season 1 was releasing, got left behind by my friends and just stopped playing at around level 50. for the next 6 years I completely forgot the game even existed until someone in a discord server said they played it and I remembered I had an account. Don't forget that this is most likely a pre-alpha version of the game. They are going to change and improve the graphics, when Aion goes into open beta in less than 2 weeks and is pretty much finalised in terms of graphics. We expect GW to come around 2010-2011. It's alot of time in which alot of improvements can be done in any aspect of the game.

The playable races are: Charr, Norn (eotn bear shapeshifters), Humans (in GW), Slyvari (fae folk), and the Asura (little people). And those aren't robots, they're golems, earth constructs or automata. Kinda steampunkish my thoughts. I'm very excited personally.

Entirely seperate. So you don't need your old account, though if you had Eye of the North you could have kinda "mix the accounts", meaning that you can send some items such as mini pets, elite armors, titles, heroes and some weapons to Guild Wars 2 via Hall of Monuments(in the Eye of the North). They'll be in one way rare, since it's the only way to acquire those items. As SolBadguyXX mentioned the music at 3:46, I too think it's epic. Reminds me of the Eye of the North theme. ^^

My thoughts: The Charr appear to be heavily industrial and might be using primitive guns, as evident by the weapon one of them is wielding at 1:55. Jeremy Soule is awesome. Norns are as badass as ever, what with the RARGH BEAR SPIRIT GIVE ME STRENGTH. The graphics do not appear to have changed much and the Asurans are babyfaced people living with golems. ArenaNet have said that it will be less instanced and will be soloable, but groups will still be encouraged, hence the name Guild Wars.

Truth. PvP in GW requires a TEAM effort (expect for Random Arena) to win. Co Op PvP in Jade Quary and Fort Aspenwood are two prime examples: If you dont hold the quary, you will not win but if you cannot kill the carrier you will lose no matter how well you hold a altar. GvG, Faction battles, TA and HA or even Hero battles are all just as teamwork intensive if not more. Whoever says GW doesn't require stratgey clearly hasn't played past Pre-Searing.
