I found an "easier" spot in the same mission. I did the same exact thing you did in clearing out the portals except one. But instead of standing in the spot were you did (My heroes kept dying..) If you watch the Titans spawn from that same portal; you will notice they run out and stand still for a bit.. then start to run diagonal towards where the first portal you destroyed was. I flagged my heroes there and it's been going smoothly. I found it gives your heroes more time to clear them before the next wave comes in. If i did it where the video shows the heroes were fine for a bit... but then eventually got overrun because they didnt clear the waves fully before the next ones arrived.

@@GWReborn This comment really helped me because I was running in the same issues that some have mentioned here; my group got overwhelmed at some point, so I tried varying the spots and finally found one near the first portal that works just fine. I also want to mention that a rampager's roll should totally be enough, since your exp-gain is capped at 350% anyway. With a berzerk's roll in HM you _should_ get 150% (HM) * 300% (roll) which would be 450% but since it's capped you only get a bonus of 350%. With a rampager's roll in HM you get 150% (HM) * 200% (roll) = 300% so it's not as high as it _could_ be, yet it's waaaay cheaper. Anyway, thank you for sharing this trick :)

Coronapocalypse farmer here... came back to get this title and finish GWAMM. This "adjusted" spot works like a charm as the closer spot has 2 drawbacks I have observed... the first being overwhelmed (no consets) and the second is the random minion pulling the portal wraiths. Not good. I set up as Mike recommended.... for the most part works fine.. occasional hero deaths with no consets as they get too far afield avoiding combat or just draw too much hate. BIP seemed most notorious for this. If you set up main party just up the hill inbetween where the titans pause for a moment and the first portal you killed (drop an item to mark the spot)... then spot the 3 supports near the 1st portal... works like candy. I found a single grail works great and removes stress, or a celerity/armor of salvation combo.. never overwhelmed, and zerker scroll never dropped. Excellent flow. BEWARe: if you use all 3 consumeables, mobs will die too fast and you will loose scroll buff. This said... EXP is OFF... best I ever saw was about 1k per minute with zerk scroll and consumeables. I am about 14 hrs in right now and am at 950k exp. I am babysitting a bit, doing other stuff on a spare monitor and this CAN be done as described without any cons... but I have a 15yo chara I dusted off who had a full inventory piled up on it to burn. Do what works for you! Confirmed 24Mar2020 valid build.

I found it was more productive to swap out the MM for an SoS attack magic and a bit of healing. The titans dont leave exploitable corpses. It makes the run up there take a bit longer, but the heroes have more staying power over all.

Note to others: after running into similar issues other have been facing (team being overwhelmed, Portal Wraiths getting aggroed) I switched to NM + Berserker Scroll. It's roughly a 25% xp reduction over HM, but it's A LOT safer. I dare to say the xp/hour actually is pretty similar because mobs die and respawn faster. The spot used in the video is great, but I recommend putting the Damage Heroes flag about a half aggro bubble distance to the south to further reduce the risk of aggro'ing Portal Wraiths. Without even using the right runes or Life Attunement, I'm able to get 85k xp/hr. Note that enemies need to die within your personal aggro bubble to receive xp for the kill.

The spawn times never change. Once you kill the big abomination titans - the portal resets and it sends the next 2 ones in. Can I ask how long this took you in NM with scrolls? Also was it purely afk and did you have to re apply scrolls at all? Check out my comment above. Everyone's comments here have been extremely helpful.

@@benbondad2384 Good to know, I wasn't really sure about the mob respawn rate. On NM, this probably took me around 18 hours total at an average of 75k xp/hr. I I had to re-apply my Berserker Scroll a few times (used around 6 or so), since there's a small possibility the DPS team will get pulled out of aggro range from the Titan patrol route during combat. My initial attempt was on HM and my team actually wiped about 6 hours in - on NM after 18h we still had 0 deaths and the few times I checked I never saw a hero (other than BiP) drop below 50% health. You can cheap out on all the runes, gear, not cast Life Attunement and still easily get this done within a day...

Yeah, the key to HM was the first portal variation. Plus I integrated and replaced some skills like minion summons and enchantment removals. Without those enchantments those little rolling beetles die so fast its ridiculous.

I had the same issue. Tried on HM, both recommended placements, and did fine for awhile, but then hours into it, randomly wiped. I am doing it now on NM with berzerker scroll and it's great. Thank you!

Wiki and the calculations here are saying you get 4,000xp per minute, which takes approximately 5 hours. When I go in hard mode (no scrolls) I get 2 titans (they break into 8 total kills) every minute, but each kill only gives 50xp. That is 400 xp per minute. To get to 1,337,000xp at 400xp per minute (no scrolls) would take 55 hours! How are other people getting 4,000xp per spawn when I'm getting 400? I've also been disconnected 3 times trying to go afk.

Super late comment but I went warrior route which is a lot harder than the rest. Done in HM, the run ultimately took me about 2 days or 40+hours. Starting the title from ground zero. You need to afk in a spot that would guarantee you will get the exp from each kill. I've made a comment aswell, check it out and if you need help just reply or send me a message.

@@benbondad2384 thanks, but I got the title last year. I was just commenting that the wiki estimate of 5 hours was way off! It took me about 2 days from zero, HM without any boosts, and I still had disconnects despite not letting my computer sleep. Having to reset it all up while risking death and a do-over at 30+ hours in was anxiety producing! Glad it's over.

If you really just want to afk this, scrolls arent really that important. The first portal variation seems to do better, it's a lot safer even in HM. If you havnt fully runed up your heroes, this is the best possible route. No exp boost. Only boost is the 8% you get from portal killing. Which then I used an extra honeycomb just 1 to make it 10% to make it a bit easier in HM. This run, with just the 10% boost alone. I had set my pc to never shut down or sleep during this process. It's cheaper than having to fully rune up. Please note that if you do this method with no exp boosts and you start from scratch (if you died and restarting survivor progress) this will ultimately take you almost 40 hours to achieve. First I studied their patrol movement on another character, I found that the patrol they do is like a diamond shape and they actually pass the first portal on their return route to position. With that knowledge I set up a bit closer ( inbetween the big circle shadow and first portal location). Like an aggro bubble away from the first portals original location was the most optimal. This method is more time consuming since it waits for the titans last route back into their original position(not the portal) but this maximizes the time for your heroes to dispatch enemies. Otherwise if you tackle this on NM, the first portal location is gold. Please note that you need to be in the aggro bubble to gain any exp. P.S. I did this on a warrior and could only cast life attunement twice (lvl 12 prot). If you go warrior route put it on your two healers because they tend to get swarmed by the roller beetles quite often and cant run since they get crippled. But if you go caster route, I would use it on your 3 mesmers and main healer or your BIP variant. Might also add that if you take the first portal route, the run will take much much longer. (But safer)

@@benbondad2384 Oh, I did set mine near first portal but my scrolls keep expiring because sometimes they clear too fast. If I move closer so the Titans come faster, sometimes the heroes get overwhelmed and wipe. Maybe I should just set it further back and just let it afk without scrolls since it gives them more time to clear. Or should I do in NM instead? The XP from berserker scroll is only 116XP. and rampager is 99XP in HM, how is that 3x lol. Did they change it?

Correct, scrolls only hasten it, since you afk, whats waiting a couple more hours do anyhow lol. You'll just stress yourself over having to re-apply it if it comes off (which was my issue) @ 5:39 there is a dead bow on the ground. That is where I station myself. That area seems to be the best waypoint for anyone to take. It gives your heroes just enough time to clear before next wave. Any closer and the first rally point of the titans will collide with the remaining beetles and mow you over. Rally your heroes in front of you accordingly, especially in HM

@@benbondad2384 Oh yeah that is spot I found much safer as the Titans go downslope first before patrolling back up. I was a bit further down the hill so I could keep the XP scroll buff up, but it still expires sometimes.. Without cons and scrolls that seems to be the safest spot, well better safer than having to restart from 0 lol. It just seems odd that the XP reported and time to complete on wiki etc is so much shorter but it still takes like a day or two.

Last night I tried getting this title. I went from 0-377k exp in about 3 hours maybe? Each kill i used a Berserker's Insight for exp and it worked great. I got about 87 exp per kill in NM. I am using the same builds, and runes on armor with all the correct weapon sets. I also use grails and armors of salvation to help the heroes. I'm Lightbringer Rank 4 The problem I had is that the Life Attunement I casted on the heroes would randomly go away after probably 45 minutes. That would result in me dying. I felt like the exp was rather low, as well as the positioning in which i had to flag the heroes would still sometimes result in one of them running for their life, and then getting stuck on the side of the rift (then theyd kill the rift). my first 3 heroes (all are in the same order as in the video) would be placed fine as they are basically down to the pixel where they are in the video, but the group flag had to keep being moved to the right and closer to myself in order to keep one of them sneaking off to the rift to kill it on their own. Do you have any advice on what I should do? Also, do you think I should be in HM? Why do my heroes let me die randomly while being AFK (because Life Attunement isn't on them anymore? Does it only last a certain amount of time?) ? Thanks - GW: Queen Factions X

This is still viable if anyone sees this in 2022. But if you don't have the gear setup for the full team. You can run a monk with party heals and prot defensive skills. Instead of the mm. Or better yet. An spirit spam healer to run with the ST rit.

The minions are great meat shields for HM. But they aren't needed necessarily. A prot monk is perfectly fine after updates. But having a higher title is helpful.

I only get 1,6k XP / minute doing this on HM with 100% Berserker Scrolls, yet wiki states you can get 4k/min. What am i doing wrong???? And did they change the 3x xp you get on scroll, cuz i only get 116xp pr. mob form normaly 50 xp without the scoll....

For some reason it goes good for a bit then the madness titans start to pile up and my heroes get overwhelmed and we all die. Would it be better to bring an Ineptitude Mesmer or Blinding Surge Ele instead of the MM since there really aren't any corpses to exploit?

@@soulwarriorwithn Just put a SoS Heroes instead of the MM, he is completely useless except for putrid bile and losing hp thanks to masochism once you start afk farm. If you don't have access to Zei Ri, just use Olias as a budget Sos. The added front line and damage should be more than enough. Also consider removing "Fallback" from Xandra to remplace it by stand your ground.

​@@Silentmouke Hey, thank you so much! I actually got it done just a few min ago! Left it running all day yesterday. What I ended up doing was I replaced the MM with another EZ Mesmer(I realized after a bit he was useless too haha). I also replaced Xandra's Fallback with "Stand your ground" as well. It ended up being a SUPER smooth run. I will add this as well to anyone that reads this @Mike Angeloni's comment was very helpful. But I've also come to realize that even when you do go set up heros up the hill, it still takes a bit of figuring out to get it just right. So just play with it. Positioning just as much as runes is EVERYTHING in this farm if not most important. I just ended up setting 1 of my Mesmers right at the very tip of the Titan's agro bubble and flagged the rest individually a few feet behind that one. Allowing for that pause they do to last longer while they're fighting and when the 1 hero returns it goes back to the spot to pull the new Titan's. Which allows for you to keep your 30 second EXP buff going the whole time. Also, thanks again for the reply @Silentmouke

I would say anywhere from 11 to 13 hours MAX. Best case around 9 Hours with scrolls. It's very slow but AFKable.

Your survivor title will always show the maximum # of xp you got in one life. The number will not go up until you have passed your previous record. If you want to see where you are at type /deaths in the chat, that will tell you how many times you've died and how much XP you've gained since your last death.

If it uses macros, automated systems, botting, etc. then YES it is bannable but to simply sit afk doing nothing in a spot is not a problem. They set no drops for a reason but experience is nice.
