The Fastest Mesmer 40/40 Set Farm

Quick little video to add on to my last video that shows 2 very fast and easy farms you can do to acquire a 40/40 Domination set for yourself or your heroes.

Hey, maker of the Wingstorm build and farm here. It is built around not requiring any triggers of half recharge so generally, I tell people farming this who are just casual players to just use any staff they have or wand/offhand, anything that will provide them enough energy, nothing else really matters. Having a 40/40 may save a couple seconds on average. Also, the first group you run past is NOT consistent to get by them, it is complete RNG based on their spawn and how you handle it changes depending. It is actually really helpful to use a Mo/P hero with Spell Breaker and Make Haste to make it even safer. I think it would be beneficial to link the PvX page in the description or something so people at least can see these things if they are struggling. And I only say this because throughout making it I worked with newer players 1 on 1 a lot to make sure it was suited as best as possible for them and know where they ran into a lot of issues that had simple fixes with some explanation. Also, there is a solo farm for the hanaku focus already using a derv, and it is on the pvx under the vow of silence farmer (im not a fan at all on how the admin there removed all specific pages to sub pages, so thats probably why you missed it, which is exactly why im against it being displayed like that, but nothing i can do). The solo method takes a bit longer than what you are doing here and probably more complicated for people, so its nice you got an alternate method using heroes, its just it becomes even more RNG to get the drop sadly. Thats a rough one to get. Maybe we can work together and think of a farm for the Mindsquall? I have been considering doing that but when I stopped my mesmer farming series this one was left untouched, maybe it has potential as an alternate method to the gross hanaku one?

@@stepmother690 I did try several Assassin builds using Shadow Form, every single time, it would get ripped off. Wasn't sure from what, but I quickly decided it wasn't worth trying any longer using SF. Addition: I just tried the Sin build, and compared to the Derv build it works great. Unfortunately I had to reset 17 times in a row because of Ranger spawns.

@@YunGrey it's kind of rng based. The afflicted necromancer's will enchant their group to remove enchants on melees, and the rangers can be super annoying. That's why it was nice seeing you use just a couple heroes and go for it, but also why i wanted to look into the other Mesmer boss. This things just gross especially for the more casual players.

The mindsquall is quite easy: Use the Vow of Silence Farmer, and just bring some movement speed to get there. its much safer, and takes about the same time as farming Hanaku.

I did both on hm as SoS, takes a bit more time but u can ez kill the group near the first boss. For the hanaku I just take 7 heros, kill all the afflicted and after just flag them to the corner so they are greyed out and u can solo kill the boss

I’ve had no luck with the focus. Maybe dropping more heroes. I used Rt/Me with ebon assassin, ancestors rage, arcane echo, snow storm, echo, you move like a dwarf, empathy. Three snow storms knocks everything out pretty easily but I still can’t get luck on the drop.

Yeah, I've been meaning to make a new video showing a much better farm for another green offhand with the exact same stats called The Mindsquall. It can be soloed in HM very easily on an Ele. Or another option would be to take a full party of 8, wipe everything out except the boss, then back out and flag the heroes outside compass range. Then go in and 1v1 it with a Sin build like this: Owpl4Jf8ImmqFxjozcA19NG6cFTWDC

Tried it +10 times - no luck getting to the boss in a simple run. Leaving Eternal Grove, following the steps of the vid, the first two groups - one group with 4, the other with two are always within my radius. Doesn't matter how I scrape the walls or wait for the 4 to group tight. There just isn't enough room to pass by the two groups. In your video the groups are spread wider. Frustrating. I'm going out with full team to wipe the two groups then pulling the heroes back - more time but works better ( for me ).

Yeah apparently I've gotten extremely lucky up until and during the video, because I've never had a problem with the run. Then the farm's creator comments saying they do it differently now because the run is inconsistent. I did the run around 50 times after this video, and 40 of those times I ran into issues with mob spawns. What I ended up doing was bringing the hero with me, setting it to avoid, and flagging it to the left so it grabs the first pack and can sneak around them.

there should be an easier way to get hanaku focus on your own and increase drop rate

Really the best way is just to farm for The Mindsqual instead. Also a 20/20 Dom, but it's easily soloable using an Obby Flesh/Sliver Ele. There's no real clear way to solo for Hanaku. SF, Scythe, Sin can only solo 1 out of every 10 tries because of the ranger rupts and daze. Only good method I found was to take my entire party, kill all but Hanaku, then flag them back by the rez shrine and solo it.

No. But the fewer people in your party, the higher chance that it drops for you.

What does a 40/40 set mean? Have no idea what you talk about?

40/40 set means: 2 pieces of gear, a wand and an offhand, almost always with mods of the same attribute. In this video the attribute was Domination. On a 40/40 set, the mods are always 20% Half Cast Time, and 20% Half Skill Recharge, and both pieces have those same mods. So in total you have 20% + 20% Half Cast Time, and 20% + 20% Half Skill Recharge. To shorten the name, you just call it a 40/40 set.
