I've got a bit of a story. I was playing GW1 late last night doing some missions in Nightfall for Proofs of Legend and I encountered a player who wanted to do a difficult mission with me. I accepted, since doing a mission with someone else is better than doing it alone. My partner used his/her heroes and we failed. Miserably. We tried again, using my set of heroes, and we won fairly easily. After the mission, my partner admitted that this was their first time playing GW1. She, like me, was feeling burnt out from playing so much GW2 that she bought all of GW1. She told me that even though GW1 is a completely different game, she was still having a lot of fun playing and getting to know the old GW1 lore. That just made me so happy that a GW2 player could find joy in its predecessor. I spent some time afterward sharing my hero builds so that the difficult missions in the future would be less painful for her. It felt awesome sharing my knowledge to a new GW1 player. :)

Jesper Locher I know, right? Like when we were communing with the spirit of Turai Ossa with Marjory. Sure, that little instance was fun by itself, but a GW1 player will appreciate that instance so much more because our characters fought alongside the real spirit of Turai in the Crystal Desert. It's like our GW2 characters are following in their ancestor's footsteps (if they're related).

I recently started playing HoT (stopped GW2 3 months after release and didn't played for 5 years) and found the temple of Balthasar HP. And now I see that temple again in this vid. It's been so long I've been there in GW1 that I just forgot its existence. But it's so awesome that A-Net implemented it in GW2 :)

Wait, Olivia, or were you talking about Livia the Shining Blade Necromancer hero who joins you? Regardless, I hope if the Murssat return, then Livia will to. Her lifespan was increased by a lot, either from being a Necro or after she found the Scepter of Orr, and it's even possible she may still be alive somewhere. The Eye of the North heroes were some of my favorite characters, and would like to see them again in GW2. Either fractals or something I dunno. Like helping Gwen escape the Charr Pits, or heck! Battling the Great Destroyer with all the Eye of the North characters, and another NPC who is some what blurry and shiny, and is simply named 'The Hero' haha. Here's to hoping.

Fantastic video! I wish I was able to really get into GW1 to be able to experience all of this firsthand, but all of your character-by-character speculation is awesome, exactly the kind of detail we'd expect from ArenaNet! I hope all of your predictions come true!

I think my favourite part about the map overlaying with the falls, is that in GW2 that area of the map looks moldy and rotten.

Today I noticed that there's yellow spots near the jungle on the current GW2 map (Mostly where the ships are on the preview map). But there's a couple here and there on the map too. I saw one at the ring of fire area and have my hopes up lol.

While I know that it takes development effort, I would REALLY like to see some of these kinds of optional story arcs in GW2. Yes, I know that a big part of the selling point was "no quests" butjust because you dont need them to level up doesnt mean they can exist to tell a story. Adding in these kinds of things along with unique rewards would be awesome. Sort of like the living story, but just put out in the open world. I have mentioned it before, but I also think it would be really cool if they added a small story line in the Durmond Priory every now and then that sends player out to retrieve some lost, stolen, newly discovered, etc. magical artifact that is wreaking havoc on some obscure place around the world. If they do, in fact, get into phasing in their maps, they could allow one of these items to cause some effect actually in a player's version of the world until that player fixes the issue, then the next one would appear in the order that they were released through patches (if that makes sense). Could allow them to give some background on areas and get players to go into random, currently uninteresting areas.
@ng4299 жыл бұрын
there are some little stories around. I guess I am talking about more long term things. things you can do for a while and pick up where you left off later. None of the event chains last more than about 15 minutes at most.

I've recently watched your let's play of Prophecies. I didn't play gw1 (but I surely buy game after that when I have more time soon), so my lore knowledge is only based on it and gw2 to some extent. Mamnoon Lagoon overlaps with Far Silverwastes where supposedly Forgotten structures have place, but in gw1 there is no word of Forgotten in the area. However (m)Amnoon Oasis is close to where we can find Forgotten. I wonder if it is related. Maybe some kind of portal? And perhaps excessive dehydration of the are has something to do with it, because of being magicly linked to Crystal Desert? Sorry for English, there are bound to be some mistakes, sorry if this questions been asked before, but I would love to know your view on it. May your steps be relentless.

I actually think you're wrong about there only being 2 statues of the gods in the Maguuma. I vaguely remember a statue of Melandru at the place you go to "take a boat" to the place you get the mission to steal the Scepter of orr fromt the White mantle

Hey guys so I purchased gw1 and was looking forward to playing it for the story but every time I run it I get to play for roughly 30 to 40 mins sometimes more and then it crashed I have to end the task from the task manager but the process will not then I have to forced restart my comp. i've tried looking for gw1 support or something with this kind of problem but can only find gw2 stuff. If anyone knows how to fix it or has an idea I'd love to hear it!!!

Stupid hypothesis to sit on: What if all currently "natural"/native creatures on tyria are "corrupt"/evolved forms of elder dragon minions and then influenced by the presence and magic of the human gods to more "humanoid" forms? Pre human charr were very feral, norn were more in tune and for a longer time in their beast forms (aka "My butt is aching, BEAR FORM. Enemy warrior used something not Heal sig, BEAR FORM! How to solve that bear form is itchy and stinks of wet fur? BEAR FORM!"), mursaat, krait, seers, lupi, devourers, harpies, crab monsters, etc the most "human" race then being dwarves, which concealed their true form/are all from the great dwarf which based on anvil rock and the anvil of dragrimmar cant be dwarf or even human sized. Tho that falls apart when you think about some of the aquatic or "extinct" mythical beings like saltspray dragons (what the blimey fudge is there evolution line and if elder dragon "dragon" related to who are they exactly tied to?).

MOX will prob be a rusty old machine in the best case after all these years and he probably wont be reactivatable unless a great asura genious manages to restart him. Still it'd be nice for me if we could see even just his remains, that would still satisfy me.
@ng4299 жыл бұрын
Αριστοτέλης Ελευθεριάδης points in multiple mastery line takes us to an area where we find the remains. we gather the pieces, dig into the history of golemancy through the stories of Snaff, and his predecessors, journey across tyria high and low gathering ancient golem parts, stealing them from the dredge/skritt finally venturing into Zinn's lost lab where we put together our own Miniature M.O.X.

Hey WP! love your videos. Too bad your never doing any GW1 lore videos anymore really loved those. What do you think of the lore difference between GW1 and GW2? I find it that the lore in GW1 is a lot better than GW2. My IGN is Deadly Knifes Dude if you ever wanna drop something ;) Thanks for all the great videos! Cheers.

The mispronunciation of "justiciar" has always annoyed me since the days of GW1, lol. I blame Justiciar Hablion's voice actor for saying it wrong. It's pronounced "jus-ti-shi-er," not "jus-ti-car." And it's a title, not a name; War in Kryta brought us NPCs named "White Mantle Justiciars." No offense meant, WP. It's just a pet peeve of mine. :)
