OMG, we were probably in Guilin at the very same time. That rain just would not quit. It rained in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guilin and Yangshuo. We just kept stuffing paper in our shoes each night.

I was in Guilin around the same time for a few days! The drive from the city down the long, winding, mountain roads to the rice terraces was incredible. My GF and I decided to take the cheaper route by taking a local bus and it was so surreal compared to a huge coach bus! Luckily we didn't run into any mudslides, although it was raining pretty well. 肠粉 rice noodle roll, was definitely the best meal of the trip and something I was looking forward to for a while. Looks like you guys had fun!
