Guillermo Rigondeaux Ortiz (born 30 September 1980) is a Cuban professional boxer. He is a two-weight world champion, having held the WBA (Regular) bantamweight title since February 2020 and previously, the unified WBA (Super), WBO, and Ring magazine super-bantamweight titles between 2013 and 2017. He also challenged once for the WBO super-featherweight title in 2017. As of February 2020, he is ranked as the world's best active super-bantamweight by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and fifth by The Ring, as well as the sixth best active bantamweight by BoxRec.
Possessing one of the greatest amateur records of all time, Rigondeaux won consecutive gold medals in the bantamweight division at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. He is also a seven-time Cuban national champion at bantamweight (2000-2006), finishing his amateur career with a record of nearly 475 fights with 12 losses; the last of these losses occurring in 2003. After Rigondeaux's defection in 2009, he turned professional and remained undefeated for almost nine years.
Rigondeaux has been lauded by boxing trainer Freddie Roach as being "probably the greatest talent I've ever seen." He is known for his exceptionally fast hand speed, punching power, counterpunching abilities, and defensive elusiveness

I expected better from Rigo in that fight, potentially like you said that could of been a classic..but at the same time it wasnt Rigos weight division. I always felt that Loma was the more complete fighter even though I felt Rigo was more dominant than Loma within his weight division. Think a lot of honest fans of the sport always really appreciated him. Even when he was getting a lot of hate he was still ranked on the top 10 of most official p4p listings (and rightfully so, I think part of his issues was he struggled to get decent fights with how many people ducked him). I can't deny his style isn't always the most exciting to watch, but no question he had truly incredible talent. Unfortunate he couldn't do more with it.

Everyone became a bum when he fights them. Loma lose is nothing for me, Rigo skipped 2 division to fight loma coz anyone is ducking rigo in his division. And loma didnt toyed Rigo, Loma only have 16% rate of landing. Rigo just have weight disadvantages. If loma can beat rigo in 122, then I will say that loma is really better than Rigo

@@rockandrock9302 I wouldnt call Rigo as a runner but extremely elusive. His amateur experience(+2 gold olypic medals)has brought him that good movement and footwork with broken rhythm. Casimero on the other hand is powerful but lacks footwork and the only big time fighter that he has fought is Zolani Tete. If you are casual filipino boxing fan, you would like to fight a brawl and not boxing, dont expect Rigo to fight in a brawl.

I know Casimero is powerful and young but I simply cannot claim he could win against an old Rigo at this point since he has little experience against high level fighters(except Tete). Its the same with Pacquiao against Spence with Rigo as Pacquiao (old but unorthodox) and Casimero as Spence ( young but lacks experience of high level opponents), the only difference is that Spence is humble and Casimero is not. All that said, may the better boxer win and should fight the winner of Donaire vs Inoue
