I actually got to meet Guillermo as part of my day job. Like literally. I've worked as a film extra in Pacific Rim for 15 days and got invited to spend some afternoons with him at Pinewood. He's a good guy. Very humble, knows how to crack a joke at the right time and pokes fun of my fascination of Alain Delon.

Don't worry I'm sure American audiences will get the idea someday that original ideas are more important than mediocrity. I mean Pacific Rim is a global block buster hit not just in American and Japanese theaters. I mean the man made Pans Labyrinth. There are still some Americans that understand the importance of creativity and originality. People won't remember something mediocre like Grown Ups 2. Pacific Rim will always be remembered around the world for generations and generations.

So the Gundam IS still in Odaiba. I saw it when it was new in 2009 and hordes of people came to see it. There was a rumor they'd take it apart again so I was wondering where it is. :3 Weird how Pacific Rim wasn't very successful in Japan. Yea, it's pointless, but preeetty spectacular. ;D

That's from the first Gundam, "Mobile Suit Gundam." I'd say start with either "Gundam Wing," which is where I started, or "War in the Pocket." It's a movie, but it's my favorite Gundam story of the bunch.
