You can actually see the mouse barely escape in the last two frames before it cuts off (you can see this by using < or > keys while pause on 11:09 to move frame by frame)!

I watched the uncensored video on his website. I was expecting it to be gory, but I didn't see a single drop of blood. This one isn't as humane as the standard snap traps because it took a while for the mice to actually die in this particular trap. I think it's more like the Halifax Gibbet than a guillotine :P

You know what your channel has taught me? That no matter what we do, we're going to be fighting rodent infestations forever, just as we have done, since forever. I really liked the longer, more in depth video that showed some of the techniques of the build. As an aside, I'm personally fine with the KZbin edits, I don't care to see anything die, especially if it is not instant. I keep reptiles and live on a farm, so I understand that it's just part of life sometimes, but I'm a softie and avoid it. Thank you for putting in the work and testing all this stuff for us.

I love the look of linseed oil on wood. It's best to use cotton rags for application and once finished store rags in full sun near something airy like a woodshed.

You should add another one of those retentions brackets at the end of the blade to prevent the blade from bending away from the trap leaving a gap for the mouses head, forcing an inhumane death upon it.
