I do love Rochester! And Guilmant, so thank you for this. Being currently trapped at home, I worship with my own church online every Sunday in realtime, but then also follow along with the uploads from Rochester, York Minster, and Norwich cathedrals. I love each of them for different reasons. But were I to be living on the Isle with you all I’d be hard pressed to not be a constant presence in all services at Rochester.

Absolutely superb, Richard! This is my favorite work of Guilmant and your recording of it is by far the best I've ever heard. Especially the finale! I've heard many recordings where the organist completely misses the parts where you hit the tuba. It adds SO much to the piece and I think Alexandre probably wrote those sections for a solo reed. To hear other recordings where the solo reed is omitted just leaves me flat. THANK YOU for doing it right!! 😊

Thank you for this video. Rochester Cathedral is only 30 minutes walk from my home and I’ve heard the organ there before. I love seeing all the sheet music on the music desk - must be hard to not get lost. 😂😂

I do like the incisiveness of the reeds in the first section of the first movement! Who is the maker of this organ - it sounds quite distinguished! Another great production, Richard. I'm getting a delay of about 0.1s, which very likely what you would experience in real life on that instrument.
