I have got to start listening to the song on repeat. Just got my heart broken by somebody I meant online that led me to believe they really liked me. Some people are really good con artist apparently. I fell for this person instantly Head over heels which is not like me and I have not done that in 3 years. I really feel like it depends on your taste in music because a "Sara song" is unique from every song on any album. Take Alligator from Sainthood. It pushes the line to a more "electronic" sound. I feel like Sara's songs are more of an acquired taste. With Sara it seems that once you understand the lyrics you begin to appreciate the songs because her lyrics seem to have deep meaning to them, not that Tegan doesn't put emotion or meaning behind her lyrics, but that's just my opinion.

I feel compelled to speak up for Red Belt! I think it's probably the best song off Sainthood. I think it's a quintessential example of Sara's lyrical prowess- something she clearly let go of for this new album. I'd like to add that they've written plenty of terrible songs, and the further back in their catalog you go, the more you find! *cough* Take Me Anywhere* cough*

I hate the assumption that you need to be witty with lyrics to merit a song being called "good". that's bullshit. Take Me Anywhere sounds like it could've been written by a 3rd grader in terms of complexity, but that doesn't make it any less honest. integrity is more important that gimmicky lyrical prowess.
