The "Tekken difference" is such a funny expression, but it does feel true. The Tekken strings kinda force you to actually look at your opponent's model, animations and think of where they are in the string at all times. Love Strive, though. Coming back to Strive on Dizzy's launch has been great, even through the bugs and balance shake-ups they're still ironing out.

The strive glaze is enough to provide for 10 Krispy Kreme. It’s deserved tho, goated game.

I just see so much forced strive hate from people who don't play the game. There needs to be more positivity from the people that actually do imo

fgc when the new game isn't the same as the old game: 😡. I honestly think strive's simplifications and general forgiving design helps get down to the mind games that I just enjoy when playing fighting games. My only complaint is that damage feels a bit too high. That, and maybe it would be nice if we got some skill based matchmaking modes. The floor system is fine but I find even lower skill players end up playing on higher levels because lower levels aren't as populated, leading to some very different skill levels between matches. But at the same time, I'm probably too busy admiring the animation to care about these shortcomings.

Thanks for the positive content on this game. I love Strive. It's my first fighting game, and I'm approaching 1k hours in it now. Recently got back into it with Dizzy, and season 4 has been a blast.

good to see another seff upload. i remember that fateful first strive upload. made me feel good seeing someone else go through what i was. nowadays i don't play strive much. xrd is my thing and strive doesn't really know what it wants to be atm

Strive was my first fighting game as well, and admittedly it didn’t click at first. The community, art, and music were great, but something wasn’t meshing for me. Upon the release of ABA however, it finally hit. That was the most fun I’ve had playing any game till that point, and finally finding a character that just fits perfectly really cemented how so many can love this genre so much. So many older concepts finally made sense, I didn’t care if I lost, if I dropped combos or entire floors, or got burnout and had to take a break from the game. All because I knew when I did choose to play, regardless of how it goes, I will be having the time of my life piloting this insane chick with a big key.

Strive was the first fighting game I started taking somewhat serious! I started with Nagoriyuki, but his constant need for input shifts between his 214, 236 and 623 specials hurts my thumb 😂😢 so now I got my bad B Baiken. Currently floor 10, looking to make Celestial floor by February. Guilty Gear is an amazing ride and I’m here for it and the rest of the series.
@sefflikejeff1917Күн бұрын
Hell yeah. That celestial challenge can be rough, and I dislike how much it encourages ducking bad matchups. But with enough time and effort, you got it ez

What’s up man, I like the video! One thing I think is interesting is that whole “getting better when returning” phenomena is actually really common for competitive games. I myself have experienced it with this game, and others, like when I still played apex (definitely don’t anymore 😭), I took a long break and then had my highest damage game ever on the week of returning. It might be partially a matchmaking thing, but I mainly think that taking a break helps to remove some of the bad habits you had when you left. Sry for the small paragraph, lol. I just thought this was an interesting thing that you pointed out

i never really played strive but i really liked your original video because it was a good example of what getting into fighting games feels like i was pretty new to fighting games myself at the time and what max says is right, that first learning experience is really magical i also definitely think that playing more fighting games is great for getting better not just in general but also getting better at learning itself

Your first 24h video is what got me into strive. And joining the discord to have people destroy me while teaching me the game made me fall in love with it. Especially a certain Seff spamming Chip DP's at my face until I learned to block in my first 2h.
@sefflikejeff19172 күн бұрын
I remember that! I didn't have any chipp tech yet so my gameplan was "spam dp until they adapt, and then start grabbing them" lol

im really glad to see this- so many people just feed into recursive loops on why new game is bad, and everything that it changes only makes it worse- when i've been playing Strive since launch, and im still having a blast with it. I sure as shit wish the game had actual match-making and a better training room after having been spoiled so thoroughly by Street Fighter 6, but i listen to some people complain and i swear the only thing they actually *play* is yapping online.

got this game on december after playing sf6 for a month cause i thought bedman was the coolest character ever. i'm really hooked, although the celestial challenge is really rough and frustrating hahah.

I actually just started playing fighting games via strive, about a month ago, solely to play Faust. I’m loving it so far, and considering getting into other games. I’m not a huge fighting game player, but it’s been an absolute blast.

Your 24 hour video mixed with some others was what made me get GGS but sadly i never realy got into it for the simple reason the tower matchmaking with having to walk to people give me kind of anxiety i wish the game had normal matchmaking where i could press a button and get an opponent
