2 of the best people covering the Chargers! Optimistic about the trajectory of this team despite how it ended this season. Herbert should have known better on that INT to QJ. He just has to know better about every aspect of that moment and who QJ is. Herbert’s injury against the Panthers was also totally his fault for not understanding the moment. Beating down the panthers and he tried to play hero ball when the game was obviously over with how it was going.

Thanks Jeff! And yeah I think Herbert will take some of those lessons with him into 2025. -Alex

Excellent discussion. Thank you for these insights. I did not fully understand two points, though. (1) Why did you say Chargers want to be a line of scrimmage team but then say they are not willing to pay top of market for Trey Smith? Seems inconsistent about priorities. (2) Do you really think there is a good enough rookie Center in this class? Bozeman was the lowest paid Center in the NFL last year and that proves he is not good enough to start for any other team. Chargers should not have worst Center in NFL. Why not sign a Center in free agency and let Bozeman go?
@guiltyascharged77523 күн бұрын
I don't think he was saying not willing to go top of market for Trey Smith, just that there are other guys out there and Smith's market will be really competitive with the level of guard contracts that have been given out. -Alex

Offense: Chargers interior linemen were destroyed by stunts in the playoff game. Offensively, the only skill player who showed up was Ladd McConkey. Major changes coming at IOL, TE, and WR. I want TE Colston Loveland in the 1st Round.

Not a bad fit for Loveland! (Couple people on the staff aware of who he is lol) -Alex

What is the consensus at Jaire Alexander at CB? Green Bay is going to move on as Alexander has been limited to just 14 games over the past two seasons. When healthy, Jaire is Top 5 CB. Let Jaire get healthy and he starts at LCB. The Packers have several options with Alexander. While an outright release would free $7.3 million in cap space before June 1 or $17.5 million if cut after June 1, neither seems like the ideal solution.

Good Jesse Minter reclamation project in theory but don't know how the team would feel either way about the character side or the medicals. -Alex

You can blame Telesco for the Trey Pipkins situation. He signed him to a terrible contract and forced him into a starting position because of what he is paid. It’s that simple. Should have traded him for a 7th
@guiltyascharged775215 сағат бұрын
Ehhh, Telesco's contract for Pipkins being a short term deal when he was playing RT was fine at the time. 3 year deal making barely tackle starter money. They just replaced him with Alt and the transition to guard didn't work. But they can very easily get out of the deal this year so I don't really see it as a terrible contract. -Alex
@Marcus419OO15 сағат бұрын
@ my point is he was one of our highest paid lineman and when you are using cap resources you try and make something work but for his case I knew from day 1 that wasn’t gonna work out. I’m not sure who would have been confident he would magically turn into a decent starting guard.
