Guimaras Island Road Trip. Exploring the Mango Capital of the Philippines.

Guimaras is an island province in the Philippines located in the Western Visayas region. The capital is Jordan, while the largest local government unit is the municipality of Buenavista. The province is situated in Panay Gulf, between the islands of Panay and Negros. To the northwest is the city and province of Iloilo and to the southeast is Negros Occidental. The whole island is part of the Metro Iloilo-Guimaras, one of the twelve metropolitan areas of the Philippines.
From Iloilo City, Guimaras is a short RoRo ferry ride. There are regular ferry transfers between Iloilo City and Jordan. Once you land in Jordan, you can start driving around the island visiting mango farms, windmills, beaches, a monastery, a lighthouse, the smallest plaza and the capitol grounds. No visit to Guimaras is complete without trying the sweetest mango in the world. Also, you can visit The Pitsop, a local restaurant whose specialty is Mango Pizza.

we brought our car. there"s a car ferry that leaves every 30 minutes from Iloilo. roundtrip ferry fee is 800 pesos
