Thats my hometown. Born in Iloilo City in 1972. Another hometown is San Jose in Antique province, mother side. I moved to Manila when 5 years old. Went to school here, San Isidro Catholic School in Taft, Manila Science HS in Taft also and UP Diliman. Settled in Bacoor in 2002 after I got married.

My great grandfather Matias Ybiernas was a former mayor of Iloilo City. My granduncle Vicente, Matias eldest son, was also mayor and for more than 1 term. My direct grandfather Fortunato, younger brother of Vicente, was city councilor. Next time you can check UP Visayas (Iloilo City). The old city hall has historical markers and thats where UPV is now. Although the bigger UPV is in Miag-ao town. You can also do the Iloilo towns to Antique like Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Miag-ao and San Joaquin.

Speaking of Iloilo Churches, the Archdiocese of Jaro wrote a request to the Pope to split it into 4. The Vatican replied to a split of 3. Vatican is now awaiting reply from the archdiocese. If 4, then Guimaras could get a Prelature or Apostolic Vicariate, then diocese for Iloilo South (towns to Antique), archdiocese for Iloilo Central (Iloilo City and nearby towns) and diocese for Iloilo North (all the way to Estancia, Carles, Balasan). But now that it will just be 3, then Guimaras will likely be in Central. Wrote these to probably ask you which of the north churches you visited could be a potential cathedral...
