KZbin must have enacted that “commandment” about 6 months ago. I’ve seen it on other channels too, where, in the past they were able to show sick and injured animals. I think it’s abhorrent they are blanketing everyone with these new rules. I don’t even know if it is KZbin who is really doing this, or our lovely government behind the scenes doing it. Several youtubers whose videos I watch told us KZbin said they could no longer show these just terrible videos of baby animals being born. But you better know it that KZbin is placating them

There's such a thing as a squeeze chute that they put cattle in to confine for treatment, you need a squeeze chute. It doesn't hurt them, it just hugs them side to side and front to back so they can't move while the vet does his work and cannot be bitten or kicked.

Just watched the X-ray and good test result for the little border collie's hip. I'm now a senior citizen in Chicago -- for decades -- but I grew up in a small coal town in WV and I was thinking about our first dog "Spot" (LOL) that I just now realized was probably a border collie also. I was thinking about how he looked and remembering one old photo from years ago. This is the first time I feel as if I've identified him. He was such a good dog. He's a sad memory, though, since he died after being hit by a car.

Any animal that has hoofs to trim, the owners need to practice this with them. Just lifting up their hoofs, touch and manipulating them from a young age will help alot for them to get used it it and not be so frightened.

What confuses me is that if the owners have all this space to keep reindeer, why can’t they use some of the paddock to manufacture a rocky terrain to manage the hooves??
@TheLaughingDove4 жыл бұрын
@@bayleighc.5843 for the paddock thing, reindeer hooves are basically made to be worn down by absolutely constant miles and miles of unrelenting travel abd there just isn't a way to effectively simulate it in a paddock. You'd have to basically terraform miles upon miles of terrain. In general I'm confused that their animals are quite this wild, reindeer are quite tameable as far as wild creatures go and they don't seem to have the room to give them as a tradeoff for it

Okay I know reindeer are not domesticated, but there are people who still live with them and even use them to some extent. There are also those, who like these, are for christmas events... yeah they can be pain to handle but this looked really ridiculous to me. Where did they get them, how old were they? What "breed" of reindeer are being used? These are just a few questions that popped into my head. I have no doubt that the foot trim is going be a pain no matter what, but there has to be a better way to handle them so that they don't get that stressed.

I had a counselor that when she got a new rescue doggo, I thought he kinda had a "swagger". It was juuuust noticeable, I think my brain was able to point it out because there was another vet show I had watched where there was a dog with some kind of issue that made it have an odd step. Milkbone looks way better than when she first got him. He still has a sort of naturally weathered and sullen vibe to him, but he's a lot happier nowadays. Considering that he seems to be getting a lot of walks (she and I live in the same neighborhood, so though I haven't had sessions with her in a long time I still see her around), and he's walking fine, if he had any issues with motor skill it must have gotten better when he got proper weight on him.

The doggies and guinea pigs are all so adorable, but as for the poor reindeer, I can't help but feel bad seeing how traumatising it was for him going through that ordeal. That reindeer seriously needs socialising training with its owners, it's essentially still completely wild and not adapted to being kept at all, I can't imagine it coping with "xmas crowds" either..
@jennydrumm72234 жыл бұрын
It would never, ever even occur to me to have my animal out in the field like that and expect the VET to chase him around and try to catch him while my spouse and I just stood there and laughed! Especially having to make him literally wrestle with an animal with antlers and very dangerous hooves! I'm very sure my vet would look at me like I was a 2-headed dragon, turn around and get back in his truck! He can't afford to risk a serious injury or worse! Even if it was set up for the show, the vet still could have been badly injured and then what would they do? When the vet or farrier comes out, I already have my horses caught up and haltered and under control when they arrive. And that just with horses, which don't USUALLY try to kill and eat humans!
@jennydrumm72234 жыл бұрын
