A little food goes a long way. An old lady my paternal grandpa ran errands for took care of a bunch of cats because everyone seemed to dump any they didn't want in the ditch by her house. She was *very* annoyed because she was sure they did that because they *knew* she'd take care of them, but she also wasn't about to *stop* taking care of them. She was in her *90s,* too. She eventually had to move into the local nursing home when her body started failing. No idea what happened to her cats. They all lived in her barn and she fed them on her porch, so I suppose they scattered when the food stopped. Cat are *very* resourceful and it's all farmland and brush around here, so perfect for hunting, but I still worry a bit almost 15 years later.

I sustained a bad back injury earlier this year. One of my cats cuddled up to the sore point and purred for all he was worth. In the morning it felt slightly less painful. I too have a clowder, but its because we could never find home for all the kittens we had. A stray pregnant cat had kittens under a bush in the front yard and we took all six babies + mommy in. Not to mention we had our two boys before them all... But now with covid and a lack of money beforehand, the ONLY female kitten in the batch who grew up by now, had a litter as well. At one point I had 8 cats. All rescues and spayed or neutered. They ranged in age from 20 years to 2 years old. If they live a long time the population builds up even if you aren’t rushing out to grab every cat you see. It didn’t help that one of my cats would bring his stray friends home. At any rate I also had a husband, 3 kids, 5 dogs, 4 ferrets, 3 toads, a sugar glider and some fish. Most were rescues too. People need to spay and neuter their animals and think before they get pets. It’s not fair to the animals otherwise.

@brigidtheirish2 жыл бұрын
@@katmandudawn8417 Quite right on the spaying and neutering. If you're going to breed, you need to know what you're doing and not just let the animals do whatever. Now, my sister didn't get her cat spayed because Socks just showed up one day as an adult and my sister thought she might have already been dealt with or was infertile. *Years* went by without any kittens even though Socks escaped often enough. Before you say anything, this is a farm and my sister's in-laws are from the South. They apparently don't believe in closing doors down there. Socks was also *fast* for such a cranky old lady. Anyway, I started hearing some tiny meows in the basement. I went down one day and found a kitten in the middle of the floor. *Surprise!* She had a couple more small litters and we easily found homes for everyone. The last kitten is my special little boy. Honestly don't know why she kept having kittens, she obviously didn't particularly like youngsters of *any* species. With Lynx, my cat, I ended up taking on most mothering duties aside from nursing. He even slept with me at night when only a couple weeks old. I'd often wake up to find him almost completely *under* me. Between my sister's dog, my niece, and her own spawn trying to play with her, Socks apparently had enough and escaped *permanently.* My sister wasn't too worried. Cats choose their homes and Socks probably found a quite house with an old lady who could give her undivided attention.

To be fair to her, it's probably only a few months since her husband's accident which sounds like it was very traumatic and there's probably an association between that and medical settings as a result. Anxiety isn't something you can just push away it can be pretty all encompassing. I'd say the fact she didn't let that anxiety stop her taking her dog for the procedure is pretty commendable.

Cats are actually very smart they know not to fight because they know they can get very hurt cats usually only fight for territory or females so I think I heard her say in the video that they were all neutered and if that's the case then that limits all of the hormones so that the males will not be competing over females and less likely to cause a fight and the space seems that she had a lot of property for them to roam so they're only really around each other in close Corners when they eat is what it seems like anyway so they are able to get along better in my opinion

I loved Dr. Scott's barber and his pampering of his wee poodle. I had a grey mini poodle for years. . He was raised with horses and Labrador retriever. He had the heart of a champion and I think he thought he was a lab! The barber was such a sweet guy, so loving toward her, and he was anxious when he saw her coming up from being sedated. He thought she had tears and she was acting hung over. It was just so sweet to see how he was going to take her home and give her plenty of cuddles and put her in for a nap. He would be a wonderful father when and if he has children. ...Hope she continues to let people come to her. Don't let her jump up on people, and jump down. She's only 6 months old and she's got small bones and she's developing and growing and she's so young yet, and the bones are fragile. Glad Dr. Scott didn't find anything wrong after the examination and X-rays. Pretty little.white poodle. They are so smart, train easily. She could get hip displacement with jumping and landing on small bones.

Lastly, question for everyone: what breed is the dog? Looks like a Lhasa Apso (per AKC: The lavishly coated Lhasa Apso is a thousand-year-old breed who served as sentinels at palaces and monasteries isolated high in the Himalayas. Smart, confident, and complex, Lhasas are family comedians but regally aloof with strangers) or Shih Tzu (per AKC: The Shih Tzu is a sturdy, lively, alert toy dog with long flowing double coat. He had a massive purtruding hernia. I was told it hurt him every time I picked him up. Yet the old vet I had said it was just his belly button. The world needs more vets like Scott and Chris. looking forward to many more vids and amazing saves.

Janet is so chilled, our new cat from a shelter would never ever let us manipulate her face in such a way. She would kill us. 😂

One of my coworkers has a poochon for an ESA, and Lux is an absolute love. He comes in with her after lunch each day and he can be a little naughty but he's all and all a good boy. We've also got a miniature pinscher named Coco who comes in. Both beautiful dogs and so very well behaved. I love having them around.
