Amazon has some deals. Search electric guitar with the deals category selected. The boss katana gen3 is 50 bucks off, the 100w is sold out. They had some deals on electric guitars last week, looks to be an on going thing though.

This isn’t meant to be political, but do you think the early black market deals are to clear stock and restock before tariffs hit? Where prices will go up to set a new price point.
@kennyg63Ай бұрын
Don’t believe the tariffs are automatic. They intend on using tariffs as leverage against companies making cars outside of the US. Every one like to save money especially guitar players. Lol
@SearchingForToneАй бұрын
@ I’m certainly not versed on any of this, but was speaking with someone that this was going to affect everything not just cars. Also, that you’d see the rise in price before they hit. Similar to the way the price of the gas in the tank at a station goes up based on what the next delivery is going to cost and not what they paid for it currently in the ground.

@@kennyg63The proposal is for across the board tariffs on everything from 10% - 20% and possibly as high as 60% for products coming from China. Whether or not it happens is anyone's guess.

I don't believe this is the case. This appears to be normal "seasonal" discounting.

Cool vid. I have *got* to shout out the short-scale Rocketeer. Been intrigued by this thing for the longest time - and my expectations were admittedly quite low (like, on the floor low). But I have to say that, not only was I pleasantly surprised, this instrument - at least the one I got - turned out to be an absolute delight. As no-frills/basic as it gets, but exceedingly well-made for the price point. Mine actually came intonated, with level frets (no sharp edges whatsoever), reasonably low action out of the box, AND a correctly cut nut. If you're looking for a travel-size guitar for less than the cost of dinner for two, you could do far, far worse than the Rogue. I even like it more than some of the Mitchells I've played - not to mention it's rather unusual body shape makes me think Rickenbacker.

GC is doing 15% off for Vets Day that should stack with sales prices. Do you think we should pull the trigger on anything now or could we see better deals for Blk Friday?

Appreciate you finding the deals, but I'm not sure how much I trust them. You either get something off the wall that's a demo being sold as "new", or they ship you something covered in a protective layer of Saran Wrap (😆) that shows up with a broken headstock (yes, I'm one of those people who personally had that experience), and then their partner, Musician's Friend, sells B-Stock as "new", so it will show up with all kinds of scrapes or other damage or anomalies, and if you don't examine it in good lighting when it shows up, you might not catch it until after the return window closes, but you still have to go through the hassle of a return and wait for the next one to show up and start all over again (I returned three one time). Those Squier Paranormals looked like good deals though. They're supposed to be good guitars.

I think this is a generalization. I've had many good buying experiences with both GC and MF.
@roberte03915Ай бұрын
@@AJgeartalk It's anecdotal, because it's just me here and I haven't done a scientific study, but it's not a generalization. For me. I bought several things from GC, and they were either off-the-wall demos or they arrived busted, and I bought *a lot* of stuff from MF over the years and it was 90% B-Stock and damaged in some way, and I'm not exaggerating (and yes, I'm a slow learner. Should have stopped buying from them after the 2nd time it happened).
@cdavidlake2Ай бұрын
Joe is correct - GC/MF can be just fine. After getting a few demos/floor models, I made it a practice to always order by phone and specify that I wanted new-in-box shipped from the warehouse in KC. They always knew what I was talking about and they were always were happy to oblige. When ordering GC used, I would be sure to have the sales associate actually lay hands on the instrument and describe it to me. Plus, their return policy is excellent.

@@cdavidlake2 _Can be,_ sure. And on average, they are almost certainly the worst major retailer in the country.
