That's a great deal. I bought the hard tail version in Claret Burst a few months ago from Adorama. It was $299. Adorama has some excellent deals from time-to-time.

I wonder if these color is like the equivalent in the vehicle world where they say “gray” is their scratch/dent/accident in the factory re-dos. I know that was probably a myth back in the day, but from their listing that’s the only one on sale🤷🏻‍♂️

I have mixed feelings about Gretsch. I love the models without the Bigsby but I feel the cheaper import Bigsby's are not the best quality (although definitely more stable than the similarly imported "licensed by Floyd Rose" tremolos you find on cheaper Jackson and Ibanez guitars). Im more of a metal/grunge player so I got rid of my Gretsch but they are gorgeous looking guitars and their filter'tron pickups are awesome.

She's here! Fast ship! First impressions - great build quality, neck straight, nut good, frets good, action good, all good:) 7 lbs. 12 oz. Sounds great! Both pickups! Volume pot was very scratchy but I just worked it back and forth and did not need to break out the DeoxIt:) A little neck dive corrected with leather strap. Tuners feel great but the knobs are quite close to each other. No biggie:) Here are two other things. The pickguard had double the plastic covering. Xtra protection:) And ... I have never seen this. It came with extra shorty saddle screws. I'm not sure if that is if I lose one and/or to make the bridge smoother for palm muting?? I'm more of a Gibson guy so I appreciate the 12" radius. All in all an awesome buy! Thank you, @Joe and @Torsten!

I don't need one. Picked up one used for like $99. I stole it. Just needed a little TLC on the cabinet. It's awesome. This is a great deal for a brand new one. It's got some power. It will do a lot of things, and sounds great on its own. But if you can't dial in exactly what you want... it will go all the way clean and take pedals to do what you want. This is a very sold deal.

Not quite right to conclude it's a great "budget" guitar. It's a risky hit or miss buy. The Mitchell MS470 is a discontinued model at this point. The only guitars still being sold by Musicians Friend and Guitar Center, and questionably for full price at $399, are actually Guitar Center floor models. Not worth the headache to find a decent one now. I went through 4 of these, each had very noticeable defects, and I only found a restock that needs quite a bit of work to make it playable. It LOOKS like a killer guitar, but these are apparently made cheap in Vietnam with very poor quality control. In my local Guitar Center the one they had was very hard to play and the paint was exceptionally sloppy.

Nice find! This can also apparently be 'updated' through software to have the same new amp models and FX functionality as the new CX model - THANKS line 6. Unfortunately the (pretty bad) footswitch functionality has not changed and you need to go to the Catalyst 100 to get MIDI capability.

I see all these types of guitars as the same....very nice affordable strats that just have crappy zinc parts....its stupid to even attempt to decifer which zinc parts of which model are better than others....they are all the same quality...so where does that leave you?Just find the cheapest one and buy it.....dont even bother with the newer models..there are countless bullets or affinities that you can get half price or less so you can easily find one of these under 100 bucks....now do what you would have done even with the newer models....throw away the cheap zinc parts(crappy tuners,crappy bridge block,crappy soft plastic nut etc etc etc) and replace them with quality ones...the pickups can stay and instead of replacing them(which is a good move anyway) you can just lower them more to compensate for the more power the ceramics have.....you really dont need to do more than that....

Joe this is a clone of ST-1 I got from Torston back in February I was listening to your Sunday show and commented about wanting a Strat style Torston had ST-1 return he said he would put a bone nut on it and set it up. Guy's I've played Strats that only wish they were as good as this ST-1 the sound & playability are jaw dropping. I paid 110.00 but I can tell you the ST-1 is a strat killer!!

Should i buy this guitar? In Malaysia it costs 439MYR which is around 94USD. I'm just wondering how the build quality is compared to a bullet strat because a bullet strat here is double the price around 820MYR / 175USD

I have too many budget guitars, especially strats. How does the donner 300 or the gear it 200 compare this this? Didn't the older tease strat come with alnico pickups? Tease needs a higher end guitar like the telecaster in your least video in strat style. Take a look at the jet300 or 400, those ones are nice for the price. The pickups are everything in a solid body guitar.

The only thing i dont like about it is the white pickguard. I absolutely hate white pickguards, especially on a burst finish!! They are just cheap looking to me!!!

I love my Grote guitar, but i had to replace the pickups due to uncontrollable feedback when using overdrive. I was also able to get a much better setup after some fret leveling.

Just got the same exact guitar and same color too!
