I can't believe people are insulting his energy. You call that insanity? I call it passion. Absolutely amazing. Pedal work, fills, etc. There is learned skill and then there is god given talent, this guy has the latter. That groove at 2:02

It's fake for the show to rile up the audience. Which is why I can't stand this dude.
@ForeverRepublic10 жыл бұрын
***** What's wrong with that? He's a performer. When you're performing you should do everything you can to engage the audience. That's easy to do as a vocalist or guitarist, not so much as a drummer, this guy pulls it off. His playing is great to say the least, so I don't see what the issue is.
@jimbalaya00710 жыл бұрын
***** Dude why do you have to say something negative for every positive thing someone says about this guy? This world needs less negative and more positive. We get it, you don't like his style. So don't watch. Why do you care so much? Go spread you're negative thoughts elsewhere.
@wdrumz10 жыл бұрын
Jim Hinrich I love to debate. It's fun. And I was trying to give this guy another shot watching it again and no luck. I think it's fun to pick at people's minds to figure out why they think the way they do about things. It's fascinating. I care because it's opinions like that are putting overrated guys like this into categories they don't deserve yet. Not gonna even bother listing youtube cover artists at the moment that fit the bill haha.
@wdrumz10 жыл бұрын
***** The level he is at is not GC finalist category. If it weren't for his over eccentric behavior and tricks he would sound like most in this competition. I don't take this thing seriously anymore because of what people actually made it this far. It's sad. It's not about groove and talent anymore it's about smokes and mirrors bs. Needs to go back to the heart and core of what makes drumming awesome.

Juan Carlos Mendoza won the 2012 Drum-Off. Carlos focused more on technique and dynamics and throwing the beat, while Aric focused more on speed playing, one-handed rock beats, and of course aerobic playing. Both of these drummers are amazing in their own styles, but Carlos had more of what the Drum-Off judges were looking for. Hats off to Aric though, I've never seen anyone perform a skateboard trick on a throne.

Alainvmusic just because I don’t tour doesn’t mean I am not successful ;) I CHOOSE not to tour. If anything I make a very nice living (all music business related by the way), have medical benefits, own my home, make my own schedule and am not in debt (that’s MY definition of success) My boy Aric is doing his thing and has done amazing for himself. He’s one of the nicest and hard working people I know. I really hope he wins the Grammy and even if he doesn’t I still ride with him because he’s a good dude. Also before you make assumptions about people’s lives you might want to do some research ;) have a nice day and maybe one day I’ll congratulate you on your Grammy.

You're right Juan C, everyone's path to success is different, I'm sorry, what can I say? I shouldn't write that... BUT, I learned that if you write a cool comment or compliment about someone it completely dissapear, on the other hand you write some stupid thing on someone else comment from 4 YEARS ago, and somehow you get some attention and even a call out from someone that is really busy doing great things related to music (like you)... So in resume we both are victims of today's internet... I shouldn't wrote a lame comment, and you shouldn't take the time to respond every lame comment on the internet... You're a great drummer and I'm not... And I don't think I'll ever win a Grammy or something like that, anyway, if you're happy who am I ? Peace ✌️

I've watched probably over 150 drum solos at my tenure working at a gc, and then probably hundreds more on KZbin and other media. What this guy brings to the table: flair, energy, finesse, raw passion. I love this solo. most of the drum solos on here are rehashed, repetitive, overdone fills, licks, and stick flips and tricks. This guy strays from the normal "gospel chops" stuff that seems to be the norm anymore. Granted, that stuff is by no means easy, but everyone seems to be doing it as of late. And I'm in no way saying that they are bad players, nor am I saying that I'm a superior player to anyone. Sure, I've played drums for the past 30 years, touring, recording, all that. But I'm no better than the next guy. What I'm saying is that this guy puts it all out on the table, let's every emotion come out and gives every ounce of energy to his craft. Plus, how often do you see a drummer start a solo with a headstand? Simply put, a wonderful and passionate solo.

***** That is so subjective. For someone who thinks they are so smart, it's ridiculously stupid to state things like that as fact. Picking a guitar as fast as you can has its place too and is not as easy as you claim it is. What's really retarded is a world where variety in music does not exist and someone like you dictates what people should listen to. You have your opinion and that's fine but to make statements such as it being meaningless is really only that it's meaningless to you. Who are you to put someone down for listening to or playing what they enjoy? It's repulsive. Personally, I think Miles Davis is overrated and over engineered music completely devoid of any feeling or soul. I get more enjoyment reading a math problem than listening to him. But I respect his work and don't call people douchebags for listening to or liking him. Just because it's technically difficult doesn't make it good music to me.

Matt Garstka, Eric Moore, Tony Royster Jr., and many others are better than Aric… but I can’t say any of them are doing what he’s doing and I love it.

The energy of this guy is amazing, my favorite drum solo by far. I hope one day I can make a solo like this one, a few weeks ago I uploaded my first drum solo, it's kind of a fast-paced rock beat.. if you like how that sounds, you can check it out in my channel! (more solos to come in the future)

Same thing Bruh! I'm like freaking out on the fact that many people really disliked his video. He made his presentation so dynamic, it shouldn't bore the viewers but still they disliked his video.
