Guitar Hero Drum Midi Conversion Using Arduino Chip

I was inspired to make a larger MIDI instrument after building the mini drum set MIDI project. This time I use a $5 Goodwill Guitar Hero Drum set. I removed the chip from the Arduino (ATmega 328p-pu) and put it directly on the circuit to save on space. Watch the full progress now in this video.

I bought one just like that for $2.99. The cymbal cables are just like those so I would be replacing them too. I was going to leave the arduino inside; but now let me see if I take on the adventure of moving into a protoboard with a chip I was going to buy an arduino protoboard to plug it on top shield type I guess I forgot the space issue. Maybe I'll mount it outside to make like look a little bit rd2stic. Thanks for your video!

I'm thinking that about two rock band drum sets would be a perfectly adequate drum set. That way you'd have four cymbals. A hat, two crashes and a ride. Two bass pedals, 4 toms, a snare and an extra pad for maybe a cowbell or something.

so... does the "midi" standard have any volume control? or is it always 100%, because with 200usd drum kits you have different levels of volume when hitting the sensors.
