I used to stay away from drop tuning songs for some irrational fear but these lessons have helped this novice immensely! Thank you.

You have a great channel. I like your videos, the clarity of your teaching, your quick/clear/concise way is great and you have a friendly can-do attitude. It's really encouraging to see and hear someone who is great at what they do!

11/11/19. To play along with record, detune 1/2 step: Eb Ab DB Gb Bb Eb....Chords: D A G D--D A G D--D A G D. Eddie Vedder sings with capo on 2nd fret of a 1/2 step detuned guitar that makes their notes 1/2 step higher than standard tuning..... Song in key of D-- play minor pentatonic scale finding it by going to D(6th string, 10th fret), then go DOWN 3 FRETS TO 7TH FRET(B) which is the B relative minor pentatonic scale to the D major scale. B relative minor pentatonic is used because the song is in the key of D major, where B is the relative minor to D major. B relative minor pentatonic : 7-10 7-9 7-9 7-9 7-10 7-10. Also, play the D major pentatonic: 10-12 9-12 9-12 9-11 10-12 10-12. B relative minor pentatonic and D major pentatonic have the SAME notes. Take care, Ryan.

Thanks so much for this lesson! I love Social Distortion and I'm trying to play some of their stuff. Can you do a lesson for Far Side of Nowhere, Diamond in the Rough, California Hustle and Flow, Cold Feelings, Prison Bound, or Reach for the Sky?

How about another Social Distortion song. Nickels and Dimes maybe? I really need a good rockin song somewhat easy to play where i can come home, plug in and rattle the windows and make the neighbors dog bark. Thanks for the great lessons!

Love some vintage Social-D! Can you please consider teaching Ball & Chain? The strumming is easy, the part we'd like to learn is Mike Ness' little solo in the middle. Kind of like this song....

Hey Ryan, thanks for another great lesson. Can you do one for The Pumpkin’s version of Landslide? Much appreciated!
@RyanLendt5 жыл бұрын
I've done that, and it was one of the more complicated things I've ever done. Go find it, but I don't recommend doing it that way. Just play it the way fleetwood did it and your life will be a lot less frustrating :)
@kjb81985 жыл бұрын
Ryan Lendt. Thanks again Ryan. I’ll def look for it. Thanks for the reply and please keep the lessons coming!!! If possible, maybe a lesson of just some cool riffs or something like that. Thanks again.
