A true teacher here. Framed it with Red House to make you feel familiar and then turned it into a full on blues lick lesson without referring to the song again until the very end. Awesome chops, awesome tone, awesome technique.

You play with a lot of feel my friend, it's the notes you don't hear that make your licks so good, only practice time and talent can bring that type of texture to your playing:) haven't enjoyed a blues lesson like this on youtube for a long time. Keep riffin mate:)

I’ve trawled all of YT looking for the Jimi Hendrix Red House that I love - which I believe was the UK recorded studio version - and I have to tell you, although this isn’t what I was initially looking for, I am so glad I accidentally stumbled across it. It’s more of a master class on ‘how’ you can approach it or play it, which quite honestly, is illuminating. From the various vibratos and rakes, to the subtle nuances that you show, not only are you a great guitarist, but it’s outstanding! Well done and thank you so much for your invaluable insight. I can now leave, a happy man and go try some out.

There are many good blues players but only a few great one's. You make your guitar sing in a way that tells me you are great. Excellent.

great lesson and fantastic pinky strength on those bends. so many players don't develop that. jimi had massive hands, but for most players, learning to use the pinky more will give you the ability to cover more area on the fret board with ease

I wish more people would teach lessons like you do. Technique is really where its at. On a completely unrelated note; the character you present when you play remind me of BB King. I saw him in Omaha last summer and he fucking rocked it with Frampton and Sonny Landreth so I can honestly say the resemblance is uncanny.

Wow nice chops! I have always loved this song but I'm am far from lead guitarist. However I have always wanted to be. This song had a lot to do with me wanting to pick a guitar up. Somewhere between there and here I ended up just strumming chords and singing melodies. I have to give a lot of props to the players such as yourself who embrace that grinding repetition that I imagine playing like this entails. Sounds great! I'll try and pick up a thing or 2 thx

Nice job! So it's in the key of A it looks like. I tried playing it to the record years ago and thought it was in B flat but I'll bet Jimi's guitar was tuned a bit high. Thanks for the lesson.

I'm sorry but you played it nothing like on the record. That being said, It was tasteful and you play very skillfully.
@averyamadeusjacobson265010 жыл бұрын
Your an idiot he played it almost just like how it's recorded; however, it's done in the key of A which he explained at the beginning of the video. So not only did you not hear what he said, you also can't tell he took it down a full step. You are a rock star in so many ways.
@RRL1109 жыл бұрын
Avery Jacobson Yeah he probably doesn't have that rudimentary knowledge needed to understand the lesson. If you don't realize the guy isn't playing in B7, E7, F#7 like most of the tabs are in your gonna be lost on this. Also if you dont understand 1,4,5 your also going to be lost. These are simple things but most people dont bother learning them and they open up a whole new world of understanding.
