For folks asking about the pickups, these are the old style Zexcoil pickups, the Texas Blues Set. I have played their pickups exclusively since 2012 and they are the best sounding, and completely silent pickups I've ever used. Their new Z-Core pickups are even better than the old ones I have. lawingmusicalproducts.com

Funny we're still exploring little licks that Jimi just came up with on the fly all these years ago...
@akimbo1394 жыл бұрын
And when you hear the longer versions of Red House (8:23 on Valleys of Neptune) you realise that he had a constant stream of these wonderful phrasings. It's one thing for people to spend years working on a few of his riffs to get them right, but it's another thing completely to be able to improvise with such creative and technical mastery, as you said, on the fly. He was the master and he still is!

Jimi-O Hendrix came up with these licks while sitting on a fly? Must have been the drugs. Eh?
@JohnDoe-jc3cl2 жыл бұрын
Matthew - I disagree, but in a friendly way; I don’t believe jimi created these licks on the fly; they were studied on his sofa or his bed; memorized and then pulled out like an arrow from a quiver. Cataloged and pulled out like an ace up his sleeve. He really liked this song; he played it a lot live If you play guitar- sing on brother, play on drummer

Hi! I just wanted to suggest perhaps mentioning the scale degrees of the notes in the lessons bit more, as that went a long way for me towards figuring the maze out...I know youre hip to them, and it helps improvising a lot, they all have a certain flavor. Just my two cents. Love your stuff, man. Thoroughly respect what you've done. My favorite channel.

Anthony Thank you for the free lesson. Just when I was going to sign up for a lesson I found you changed your membership to a yearly subscription. Covid has people with a lot of time on their hands but little money. It would be nice to be able to buy the lesson we want to learn a little at a time because money is tight for a lot of people to plunk down a yearly membership fee. Plus those of us in the healthcare field have little time off to make it worth buying the membership because there is not a lot of time to use the yearly membership to make it a value. Thanks

As for why I don't offer individual course sales anymore, I'm not going to explain the dynamics of a sales vs membership business here, but what I can tell you is that it is absolutely what I needed to do to ensure that my business remains strong. My kids haven't been in school for three months and I've had less than 4-5 hours a day to run this business during that time. If I still depended on selling courses, there's no way I could keep up with everything, but since I'm 100% subscription based now, it has been possible for me to produce regular free content, and keep my members happy with extremely limited time. So it's not that I don't understand your preference or situation, but my job is to keep a sustainable business running.
