so sorry Michael, I in this past year have lost my grandfather and I know how it feels. My grandpa always loved the Beatles too... he was a guitarist and a great man. Sorry about your friend Michael. I lost my girlfriend of nearly a decade at the end of June, she was killed by a careless driver. It’s very sad for a young person to go so unexpectedly... she reluctantly watched GOTD everyday with me. Now the show keeps my mind form wandering for 10 minutes 5 days a week. Stay strong.

wow, my condolences, Mike. that intro was deep. in '72 i ordered a Fender catalog. I was 15. Loved everything of course but the SB Mustang was always my fave. Just seemed maybe affordable and i loved the look. Never played one.

Hey Lemmo, im sorry for your loss. I lost my brother last year. Its been tough, but you and these videos have been helping me get by. You have such talent and such a positive energy. Its very uplifting. I always wanted to play guitar and gave up years ago. These videos have helped me start again and its really helped me cope as well. Music is such a gift we can all share. I haven’t dealt with any such loss lately but the videos really help me unwind and have been a super bonding situation between me and my oldest two kids, girls age 12 and 9. They love the videos and we talk about guitars and music almost every night. So sorry to hear that you lost your brother though. If you’re on Instagram there’s a guy that I follow who posts some really cool videos of him playing and you might enjoy it. His handle is “donniebellmusic”. Definitely worth your time. Hope that your days get brighter and brighter my friend! Stay strong!

I am so sorry for your loss! The guitar does help to pass the time. They say death is just part of life... but it is something I just cant get use to! Everyday is different. Check out how to play panatonic scales on youtube... cool stuff. You can use scales anywhere on the neck... get creative!

The guitar was probably blue orignally. Many blue guitars fade to green with age. One of my uncles had a blue Gibson LP in the late 70s and that one looks green now, but we know thanks to old photos that it used to be blue.

I remember when I replaced my first guitar (Sears Silvertone) back in 1964 with a new red 64 Mustang with a band in high school (Lincoln and the Continentals). I soon replaced the body with a custom semi-hollow body Mosrite style I built myself. A local music store liked my custom work so much they traded it for a new hollow body jazz guitar that I used to learn jazz on.
