Based video, love the restoration videos. I also own an Ibanez Gio (grg170dx) personally I really like the infinity stock pickups cause they are bright and have a lot of presence.

Yeah i guess it's a matter of taste, i like my tones chunky and ibanez pickups just don't do that

That was a big transformation for not alot of work. It's nice to know cheaper alternatives to guitar products. I agree that the pickups don't sound that good, but based off ur sound samples I like the brightness, alot of cheap pickups sound muddy and low output, so the Ibanez definitely ain't the worst from what I could hear.

Yeah they are usable, just too shrill and thin for what i like, playing them i could feel the lack of punch in them

This is so statisfying to watch after snapping a string while playing the smoke on the water solo in front of your parents at 6am (yes, that just happened)

So it can be converted into hsh ? Did it need to make a new slot for the single coil or it does have in default ?
@danaowens308 ай бұрын
@@toroblyat5158 yes it can. I have 4 GRGx 20s i converted just change the pick guard and electronics

Don't run magnets over the pickups! They can mess the polarity of the magnets inside the pickups or weaken their strength.
@Juanter2 жыл бұрын
For the pickups i do a very swift pass, it's not affecting them in any way that i can tell
@ErebosGR2 жыл бұрын
@@Juanter If the magnets you use are stronger than the ones inside the pickups, it is very likely that they can be affected. And the damage may not be very obvious, it could be a small phasing issue or (if it's a single coil) inconsistent volume from string to string. DylanTalksTone made a video about it. Search for "How To Ruin a Guitar Pickup In 10 Seconds".

@@ErebosGR I'll keep it in mind, thanks for the tip!
