I bought my daughter a Harley Benton electric guitar for her 21st birthday present and it is perfect. They are Asian made and German adjusted. The best value for money available.

Kudos to your playing skills...😃 Harley Benton is a fairly good German music store house brand that sells affordably priced clone starter guitars... Guitars always need the truss rod adjusted after shipping and changing altitude

This one was a very nice instrument! Outside of some sharp fret edges it played super well. Amazing for the price. 😀 thanks a bunch!

Harley Benton is the house brand of Thomann Music in Germany, who are one of the largest music retailers in Europe. I'm pretty sure these are made in the same Indonesian factory that did Applause AE-128's for Kaman. The tops are laminated, and made with the same process as the tops on export Nippon Gakki Yamaha guitars were, with a solid, voidless spruce core faced top and back with thin spruce veneer. Tuners are Ping on mine. Truss rod is double-action. The pre-amp is the Belcat 505R, used in a lot of Ibanez and Washburn guitars in the past. The circuit is pretty much the same as Ovation's OP-24, which is favored by a lot of die-hard Ovation fans like me. I have four of the HBO 600 instruments, which are basically the single-soundhole version of the Harley Benton round-back. I am biased because I think the things are fabulous live performance guitars. Roseacer is indeed thermally treated maple. Mine took a lot of lemon oil at first but now feels to me like playing on ebony. Mine came shipped with perfect frets, necks set at the correct angle, and the neck relief and string height all set to minimum Ovation spec. All I had to do to make mine ready for live performance was to oil the fingerboard and install some Schaller strap locks . I WAS a huge Ovation fan-boi until I bought my first HBO 600. Now, I don't think I'll ever own the real thing again. I like my HBO-600 much better, for a lot of little reasons that I won't get into here. I'm a praise and worship leader and my Harley Benton round-back guitars get A LOT of heavy use. Fir what I do, the things are absolutely fantastic..

Looks like an Ovation to me. My brother has one about 15 years old. The material at the back is called plastic in Europe.

I have the identical Ovation version. Love it, but it's not without issues.

I found a description that said it was a plastic composite - another site called it a plastic resin. But it does not feel like plastic. It sounds decent though. Thanks for listening in❤️

It's called plastic in the US as well, I did injection molding and used ABS on some parts. I wonder if they have some sort of fiber in it?

Harley-Benton makes a good low budget guitar. I bought a HB telecaster (Prince copy) for $199.00 at Guitar Center. It’s a really great guitar.

I've tried Ovations like this at various guitar stores. The rounded back doesn't feel right to me... Like it's going to slip off my lap without a strap. Also, most of the ones I tried had a crack running the length of the top near the sound hole. I wonder if it's because of the composite back and sides inflexibility not allowing the wood top to expand and contract properly. Just an educated guess as a professional woodworker. Another great video. I love your content. I feel like I'm sitting down with a friend as I listen to you play and tell stories. God bless!!
@guitarnotions9 ай бұрын
that's a great point! Ovations are difficult to hold. This one has a plastic like bowl and it does not seem to slip. My Emerald carbon fiber guitar slips like that too.(annoying too) I remedied it by buying those gel pad squares. they hold on to the guitar without hurting the finish and in turn prevent the slipping. thanks for the sharing this... @@johnhunter7386

I bought a five string bass from them, and I like it. The shipping was $98.00. Too bad they didn't have a US distributor and I had to wait and pay shipping from Germany.

I did not realise they were so popular in other countries. The guitars are actually pretty good for the price.. Shipping can get a little pricey for sure. Thanks for listening to my channel 😀

Can’t believe it was so cheap and yes it does sound good. I’ve read that many of the guitars coming out of some of the southeast Asian countries need work when they get to the states, for example my Republic Resonator guitar, but I agree with a few fixes they can play/sound ok especially for someone on a budget.
