This was cool. I’m looking forward to see which of their songs you do next.

I love this song so much. How are they not hugely popular in the US? Great musicians with an amazing singer! Makes no sense to me. As always, I really enjoyed your reaction.

Hmm..a cover of a Liliac song of the same name...off of Liliac's Latest Album of the same name?

If this was a Coldplay song it would've been on the radio constantly back in 2012 but because it's Muse no one's heard it, makes you think.

It was on the radio constantly in northern california. I know Coldplay is much more popular with the masses, but Muse has had radio success, even in the US. I think they held a record for a while for longest time a single was in the top 100 Alt Rock chart, might have been Uprising. So it's not like they weren't big in the game by the time Madness came out. Of course, your local radio stations may be different than where I was upon this song's release. So we could both be right here.

Generally I'd agree with your comment, but Madness was a HUGE hit. It even broke a Billboard record by becoming the longest-running number 1 song on the chart.

@@wewantthecup Verona from the latest album, do you think if Muse released that as a single it would do anything sales and chart wise? For certain if it was a Coldplay song it would be a massive hit.

@@DarkPsyenceOkay, Verona is at least a better choice for your talking point here, because it wasn't a hit single like Madness was. Madness was a hit with alt rock radio stations. Verona is not really a poppy track. (Verona is probably one of my top 10 Muse songs of all-time... I wouldn't want it to be any different) Of course a band like Coldplay would better numbers if releasing a Muse song than Muse. What's your point though? I mean, if Taylor Swift released a cover of any Muse song, it would be 40x more of a "hit" than Muse's original version. It's just how it works. You're just stating the obvious. Well, now that you've moved the goalposts from your original statement, which was the nobody's heard Madness before. "Madness topped the Alternative Songs chart for 19 weeks, breaking the record for the longest-reigning number-one song on the chart, which was previously held by "The Pretender" by Foo Fighters. In late 2023, for the chart's 35th anniversary,[25] Billboard ranked "Madness" as the sixth-biggest hit in the history of the chart. 2x Platinum (2 million sales) in the USA" People have heard Madness 😂

@@wewantthecup The point is that it's the same song! so are people interested in great art or just liking something because everyone else does, the point is is that Coldplay, Taylor Swift could release a good Muse song that didn't get any traction and it'd be a hit, so is it the song or the "artist"
