My first jam band show was Yonder at canopy club in Urbana, IL in spring 2013. Opened up a whole world of new music for me. Never saw him with yonder again but I did get to see his solo band a handful of times, and a few 30db (him and Brendan Bayliss from UM) shows. I got to see Jeff’s last live performance ever which was a 30db show at a street festival in Chicago, when they played right before Billy Strings. I miss that crazy bug eyed madman. Having seen Jeff multiple times before he passed, there is no doubt he is one of my favorite musicians of all time. He put his entire giant heart into every song every time he played and is probably one of the most kind people that has ever lived. The way that he engages with the crowd is something I have very rarely experienced in all the other shows I’ve been to. Everyone that ever had the chance to see him will never forget him and I’m sure misses him like crazy. RIP to the king of the ball!!!

I know you've done Marcus King Band already but his live performance of Goodbye Carolina at the Grand Ole Opry is incredible. And since you love great authentic song writing you will certainly love the story behind this song. He was in a hotel thinking on a friend who was a songwriter himself who had passed away I think the year prior. He describes how that friend basically came to him and wrote the song through him. Marcus says he doesn't really even think of it as his song but actually his friend's song that he gets the honor of performing. Love your channel and how many great artists I've discovered from it. Thanks again for what you do and the great support it brings to this genre of music!
