I was privileged to see Justin Townes Earle in Dallas a few years ago. He was a brilliant American songwriter who gently whispered “it’s ok to feel pain” into your heart. John Prine had this same whisper as well. We will miss them both. Thanks for all you do Steve. One of my favorite You Tube stops!

I love this series. I've been going to Gruhn's since I was a teenager. I still go every time I'm up there visiting my mom. Thank you for sharing all of these guitars. They're stunning. And I remember hanging out with Justin in Galway. I liked him. He was quiet like me and gentle and kind. The only thing I could play for him was Delta stuff and some Lightnin Hopkins, which I always thought sounded a little dull compared to his thumping finger picking. I look forward to listening a bit more to what he did and what he explored. Thanks again for this series. I'll keep tuning in.
@andrewbowen81224 жыл бұрын
Oh I dunno about that. That Delta stuff is hard man. Lol may just be me, but I can’t get that metronomic thumb going that Steve, Justin and messers Hopkins and co did/do so well? Just one finger and thumb n all. Such a nice story.

L-00’s and D-18’s! Like blue jeans and t-shirts. When you get right, you get it right. You probably hear a lot of “ought to’s” but, you ought to do a Record of mixed acoustic-electric music (not from your normal repertoire) with ZZ Top. You guys are from Texas and I think you voices would compliment each other. Thanks for all the great music!!! You’re one of a kind.

Love the song, love the shirt! I think you’re totally correct on Gibson just wanting to use up L-10 necks! My debate is, as a guitar builder, does that main brace, the wide one just above the soundhole, does it not almost eliminate any top vibration above it? I think so, but it’s an opinion. Peace
