I'm proud of you, UKOG! You are doing it the good way. To some of people who asked me to teach them how to play I always said: You can play at the same level as I do. The only difference between you and me is that I've spent 1000 hours just playing my guitar, and you have spent only 10. 1000 hours later you will play like me or even better. Just keep playing.

I absolutely love Rocksmith. I can play some damn difficult songs, but my issue is that I can’t play them without Rocksmith and I still don’t technically know how to play guitar. I just know how to play Rocksmith. It’s a great base, but you’re gonna need real world methods of learning as well. Excited to see your journey though!

Hey UKOG. long time viewer and twitch subscriber(You my recognize me under the username Guywithanelectricgutar) i just wanted to say that its amazing to see you pick up a guitar and start to learn. one of my favorite songs i started learning first was One By Metallica. fantastic song that shows how much you grow as a guitarist. at first its hard to shape your hand to hit those first notes, and good lord trying to memorize how that opening solo goes. but as you go along you learn so much from it. Tapping solos. tremolo. keeping time with your strumming. anyways, from one guitarist to another, i wish you best of luck in your guitar journey.

Nice work man! I barely managed Seven Nation Army in my first week 😂 Best purchase I ever made was a guitar-to-iPhone cable. Plug in and use with the Tonebridge app (you can still have it playing through an amp) instead of forking out £££s for pedals/effects boards. Game-changing.

So awesome, you've learned a lot in a Week too, really well done. Sounds so cool :D As you mentioned around 6:48 about the scale. I'm not sure fully I think it maybe minor pentatonic scale there maybe more but that's all I know, Keep up the great work too 😁

Nice, bro! You're working on your alternate picking, minor scales, and barre chords! You're on your way! Just a tip, if you press too hard on a string it actually pushes it out of tune! You only got to press on the string just hard enough to make it engage the frets, you don't gotta embed the string into the fret board! (This is something that all guitarists struggle with early on) Keep it up, man! This video inspired me to pick up my guitar and practice for the first time in a month. Thanks! :)

Rocksmith helped a lot with keeping me motivated to play when I first switched from acoustic to electric. It's a good tool for us gamers, makes it fun and easily accessible to play our favorite songs. I don't really play it anymore but it was a major part of my learning process.

Asking as someone that has no idea about playing guitar, is it a good start to learn guitar with Rocksmith? I mean, I love rhythm games like CH but doesn't want to stuck on just plastic guitar...
@DaedricNZ3 жыл бұрын
@@cunihinmangihin2215 I'd say it's a pretty good place to start, especially if you're coming from CH. It basically feels like playing CH but with a proper guitar. I can't really vouch for its ability to teach you how to play; I was already intermediate when I first got it so I didn't use the tutorials for the basics. The key thing though is that it's an easy to use tool that sets everything up for you. You can get straight into playing without having to worry about setting up an amp, pedals or tone settings, and it makes the learning process a lot of fun.

I found that playing random chords going slow and increasing the tempo from time to time helped me out a lot (trying to get more loose was hard though, especially for me since I'm double jointed, and no, that didn't help me at all, only hindered me, especially for certain chords and for doing solos, also generally speaking my coordination is shit), looking at my favorite guitarists and trying to mimic their picking hand helped me out with that too. Btw, that's really impressive for a week

i'm not a pro by any means infact i just learned how to sweep pick small parts of scales. but yeah your picking hand will develop. maybe loosen up your hand, grip the pick lighter. those are good things to keep in mind while practicing i've found. i know you're just beginning. i found when i was learning(still practicing everyday) how to sweep pick that i was gripping my pick too tightly it took a lot to get into the rhythm of holding it loosely also the technique of using both hands to mute strings while playing scales in seconds.

That's an awful lot of tunes in this small amount of time! I think practicing the stepping (3:05) slowly getting faster and aiming for clean notes will help an awful lot in just feeling comfortable, once it finally clicks and your hands are doing it without much thought, it all starts to feel a whole lot more natural and you can really relax into it. After that feels normal, maybe a nice arpeggio? :P
