Why not convert one of your not so much played 3 stringers into a 6 string by replacing the neck so you could make a 6 string for cheaper?

I liked it. Especially the good intentions to keep an organized work bench as you work, but as you know, good intentions get lost as we work on a fun project like this. Our enthusiasm overcomes all reason, me we just keep going. I know the feeling. Also, the time flies as I work on a new project, and all of a sudden it is 1 a.m.

Great stuff thanks for the video 👍. I have a Jazz bass neck. I'd love to use your concept and build a CBG bass. It would probably be neck heavy and drop like a rock 😂

@@craiggallagher7292 I liked building with he wine box, because there's lots of room to work, with a big box. Ive only built one using a wine box and it was acoustic. How do you get the action of the neck right? Can you adjust it without breaking anything?

Hi Ethan, I install the neck on the Cigar box ,so the fret board is the same height as it was on the guitar. Then I use the bridge for the final adjustments.

Is this neck a full size guitar neck?... like one you’d find on a Strat or Tele? If not, would a full size Strat or Tele neck work?

What if you could build a 6 string Cigar Box Guitar for cheaper by taking an already made 4 string CBG & replacing the neck? It would save you money.

@@SouthernFireGuitars Actually you'd just have to make a new neck, new bridge, etc, & you'd have to reinforce the bracing too. It reminds me of this guy:kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppiYeKh3mZusj7c Dan Lambert converted an old Oscar Schmidt 4 String Tenor Guitar into a 6 String Grand-Parlor Guitar by replacing the neck & rebracing it.

Thinking about making one for myself. I'm wondering if a Fishman single coil acoustic pick up would work instead of the humbuckers. Would have to make a larger sound hole of course. What are your thoughts on this idea?
