Beyond brilliant...Don has always brought more to guitarists than most realize. Studying with him in 1981 floored me... the synth guitar changed everything Thanks Don!!

I was there at Don Mar Warehouse in Covent Garden in London for the GIT Audition with DM and Tommy Tedesco.....sometime in the 80s, I had just graduated and signed on for GIT in LA.

Don Mock! 🥇been following you since i was a kid. Coolest modern style. Took me ages to learn all the licks and lines. I love the dominant chord scale so much i use it every week at my gigs to this day

Don, I am one of your former students. It's breaking my heart that you are parting with such a great ax. I was fortunate enough to play it at your Fusion seminar in '85. Is it possible to upload that entire show from 1983? It is great to see you, Dan Gilbert and Paul Farnen back in the good ol' days. You might remember, I helped you haul your gear at that gig at UCLA during the opening of the '84 Olympics.

Yes. I hung out with Don from '84 to '85. I considered him my Senior Music Mentor. I hauled gear fro his band's gig at UCLA in July of '84.

Hey man, I was at GIT in 87/88 and I got to play it too! Also, for a project, and friend and I transcribed "You Choose One" from Don's first album and played it for him at a seminar. We did have to have a little help from Don to get that ascending fourths part correct, I must admit! It's really too bad he is selling it, or sold it, I hope it gets played, but from what I recall, it would be really hard to put down....

I couldn't get rid of my synth guitar quick enough. Like a guitar shaped keyboard. Nothing like the organic feel of an acoustic alone or electric with a tube amp.

Question: Is Don Mock still alive?? This video is the last thing I could find of Don. His webpage was not update from 20009 ongoing. I could not find any newer records of Don Mock! Anyone her who has more information? Kindly appreciated! Thanks a lot! Cheers DimiZ

I'm wondering the same thing. I've found out about him and his educational material a couple of years ago, and his website is up for sale now, so I don't know what happened to him.

Wow! Thanks for this video Don. I was reading through the "History" section of your website over the summer, and I thought it'd be cool if we could see more of the Double-Neck Synth in action as the short bit that was included in the intro of The Blues Fom Rock to Jazz was my only chance to see you play it. Very cool video and as always super clear instructions a la Don Mock-style. Awesome :)
