the most obvious reason why i love seether is because they are as good live as they are in their studio recordings... there is nothing morphed about their music. plus shaun's voice is so good that u really wanna hear his songs again and again

I love reading people's comments about how much this song has helped them during difficult times. I personally got through a very tough period when one of my relatives suddenly passed away and this particular song helped me ease the pain. I can attest that music does have healing powers. Thank you Seether, I know Shaun wrote this song in honor of his brother.

It’s gotta be rough to sing of your brother’s suicide, but he can sing it proudly knowing how many people this song has helped.
@genafick41114 жыл бұрын
I lost my brother to suicide last year. The effects it has on the family is a difficult road. Music has been my healer and it is songs like this that help. Knowing you are not alone. Remember, if you are feeling helpless..hang in there..It will pass. If you know someone that is suicidal or secluding themselves, make sure you let them know that they truly matter. Remember: Words Hurt, but they can also heal. Careful with your words. Be a light to those unwell.

I'm sorry for your loss, but sometimes it doesn't pass. Those that kill themselves usually are in mental anguish for many years beforehand. People naturally want to live, but mentally suffering for decades or longer is something many people can not comprehend or have experienced.

Hands down this song spoke to a generation. If you were in highschool. I can almost guarantee you have some sort of memory to this song. The first time I heard it I was doing dishes in a restaurant. About 17. Everyone stopped in the middle of dinner rush just so we could listen to what we were hearing on the radio. It reminds me of how much I miss the old me. The one that still had really big dreams.

Excellent performance. And, some of you dudes are confusing me. Shaun Morgan is the rhythm guitarist. He just likes to solo sometimes. Even when Pat, the original lead guitarist, was in the band, and when Amy Lee's guitarist joined Seether briefly on Finding Beauty in Negative Space. Shaun's guitar doesn't sound terrible. It sounds good - just like the album version of this song.
@Kultivater7 жыл бұрын
His guitar sounds like shit in distortion dude. It actually sounds like it's out of tune. Probably the G string, since that's generally what it sounds like when you hit that octave note with it while hitting power chords. It's not bad playing on his part. Just poor attention to detail when tuning up.
@parkermesch65226 жыл бұрын
Watch the rig rundown video of shawn, he explains it all, their sound and freely admits hes a rythm guitarist, and will jack riffs up often. He likes distorting sounds, they are heavily influenced by sounds like Nirvanas.

Kultivater probably out of tune for sure that’s they way he likes to play he’s clearly fucking the shit out of those strings slamming on them the great thing he doesn’t care about it. It’s art and expression of himself. It doesn’t have to sound great to be great. That’s what rock n roll is about if you need perfectly sounding guitars listen to country music.

Pretty sure he doesn't use pedals for distortion. Just the Boogie footswitch straight into the rectifier. The only pedal he used here was for the chorus-y effect in the solo. If you don't have a boogie and want a beefy distortion similar to thism a good pedal to use would be the Zvex's box of metal.
