"Guitar fish" sounds more poetic than "shovel nose" 😁 thank you! It was really interesting to find out that they hatch eggs "inside" & babies are on their own from the birth moment 😯

Shark gills are on the sides because sharks are round. Rays are more flat.

2:43-2:54 - Are those "C"-shaped pupils? I find odd shaped pupils really fascinating (like cephalopods). But, going back to watch again, at 1:08 they look round, and I'm not sure what to make of the eyes at 2:18; tornado shaped? Do different species have differently shaped pupils? Thanks for another great video!

I'm actually not sure on this one. Specifically at 2:43 that's a banded guitarfish and just doing a quick image search I'm finding differences: round: week.divebums.com/2015/Oct19-2015/banded-guitarfish_Tiffany-Poon.jpg not so round: elasmodiver.com/Sharkive%20images/Banded%20Guitarfish%20015.jpg somewhere between? www.divebums.com/week/2014/Nov17-2014/banded-guitarfish_David-Andrew.jpg So I'm wondering if it has something to do with light refraction underwater or camera angle?? Really nice observation, though!!

@@AnimalFactFiles So, maybe similar to house cats; when they're wide open, they're round, but as they close they become more and more vertical. Or maybe something completely different. I love the endless variety of creation!
