T-Bone was a major influence on Chuck Berry. Give a listen to "Strollin' With Bones" (recorded in 1950) and hear a lot of the riffs Chuck Berry later made famous. I think T-Bone was also the first guy to play behind his head and the first to play with his teeth.

Love this video because I just had the same realization or questioning. After watching Henry Garza (lonely Boys) totally amaze the audience with the song Cottonfields and Crossroads I went to watch some blues players and came across TBone Walker and realized that everything Henry Garza was doing well TBone had already done it. Not to take anything away from Garza it was just the realization that these blues men were the true rock Gods. Our rock Gods ,Page, SRV, and H Garza just took their genius and expanded on it and made it their own. OMG , what an absolutely awesome American story!!

Ah T-Bone. If someone did something with an electric guitar, T-Bone probably did it first, including playing solos. OK, maybe second or third. He was there at the very start, stealing and teaching with the earliest electric guitar pioneers. He probably didn’t do the 300 foot cable, starting to play outside the venue (that was maybe Guitar Slim), but everything else.

You just looked it up (7min30)... but I was just about to comment; 1966 "Jazz at the Philharmonic" here in old England. It's part of a longer video, where perhaps more impressively, T-Bone transitions into this uptempo number after a proper slow jazzy blues number (containing more of his trademark licks) where one of the horn section plays an amazing "trumpet" solo in his bare hands. Well worth a look Mr Palmisano. And man I love T-Bone. The live videos of him on youtube are generally 15-20 years after he cut his records... and it seems he only got better! Theres a great show of him and B.B. playing together (poor quality video, but the playing is 🔥)

Listen to some of the early 50’s horn players like in the Dave Bartholomew Band who knew how to play a solo. The early electric guitar guys were stealing from those horn solos. Then it’s easy to hear how it morphed into Chuck Berry and the early rock guitar because they could play double stop licks that the horn guys just couldn’t, plus they could turn up over the band. Also remember early 50’s guitar guys used giant big band era heavy gauge strings and couldn’t bend notes. Until Ernie Ball came along 10 years later fat strings were all you could buy. The days of using 5 strings and a banjo string for the high E came to an end and all those unused fat low E strings in your case were tossed in the trash. Quite apart from the performance, the observation about the uniform is telling. The look of blues and jazz (and rock - though you expected it in rock) turned in the 1960s and everyone forgot this was meant to be a music on the same platform as supposedly grand statements from Europe. There's the story of Big Bill Broonzy touring the UK dressed down like a farm-hand when back from he was in suits and ties and hats. It sometimes feels like: 'You may have made it big with your music but remember when you come from...'
