The way that light blue splatter stands out on that dark crackle contrast is too good, got color and hardware choice, definitely a kick ass build

Looks great! To note, the 85 is EMG’s highest output pickup. It’s been my go to bridge pickup since 1985. The Alnico just makes it warmer. Great video and work as always 🤘🏼💪

I have a JDR-94, the HSH 24 fret model. Best neck I've ever played, installed a J50-BC and a JE-1000 in it and an OFR. Love it.

LOVE that splatter over (subtle) crackle! The light(er) blue over the black/navy is definitely popping, and the splatter gives the guitar a 'spacey' look, which is really cool.

Sick paint job!!! What about doing a crackle over top of a splatter?? Sonthat the crackle exposes some of the splater That could look interesting!

totally agree, especially if it's a neon splatter! Or maybe some lava crackle with "firey" splatter, like if earth cracks open...

I recommend trying Isopropyl alcohol to remove any sticker residue. Eats right through it and super fast drying.
@Murf_Workshop Жыл бұрын
I second this too, the isopropyl alcohol weakens adhesive, dirt, dust, and oil. Plus it evaporates quick. It's my go too for cleaning FR and Ibanez bridges or about any bridge and hardware.

That guitar does look incredible. The only thing I’m curious about is how would the finish look using red and orange under the crackle and some yellow-orange splatter? Like “liquid hot magma?” Keep up the amazing work, good sir, and have a great day.

I also have a modded js34q hss rout with just an emg 81. Floyd rose with brass l block. Have a white king v js32 with the black bevels and an ibanez that's got led mods lol.

Nice palm muting, sweep picking, and sequencing scales. I recently bought a explorer diy build kit. Going to try some crackle painting on it. Just wondering what is a good gloss for it? Im probably doing a purple 2x rustoleum primer paint and motana crackle. Sanding techniques or any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated. I like a bigger crackle and not so much smaller crackle effect.

Pretty rad. Gold hardware over those colors would've been cool too. Maybe orange splatter over the blue/black crackle? Using the lighter blue as the base coat might make the crackle pop more (especially if using orange splatter or something). Supercawesome guitar though.
@stazrulez2 жыл бұрын
dude that thing is awesome. you should get an ec1000 do the equiv of a gold top, so like white or gold w/ crackle and take whichever color that is not used and splatter it w/ that so like, gold w/ crackle and white splatter or white w/ crackle and gold splatter, that would be a modern touch on a classic paint set up
@guitarsehole2 жыл бұрын
Looks amazing! But I definitely would've made sure that cavity was big enough to allow for pulling the trem back before painting. It's only a half functional tremolo now.

Looks nice. I remember seeing brand new guitars with splatter paint and crackle in the 80s and 90s... not popular, well-known, brand-name guitars. But, I could feel the texture of the crackle or the splatter on the body, unlike your paint job where you leveled everything with clear coat layers.

I had a 1996T on one of my guitars years ago and compared to an original german made one - the push-in tremolo arm is much better vs. the standard threaded one, which overtime will most likely loosen up. Think the german company also make the 1500 series, which has that same feature, as 1996T.

I plan to replace a Floyd Rose special by a Gotoh GE 1996T on my Fender HM Strat. From what I've heard until now the Gotoh is better than the 1000. I will be sure to test that because I have an OFR and a FR1000 on other guitars.
