Yeah the previous singer was accused of sexual misconduct with a minor and was replaced pretty quick after the news broke. Those vocals were much, MUCH higher pitched, and that's another reason people were so put off by it initially. It seems to have grown on people somewhat after the change.

@@HurtboxTV Agreed, i actually enjoy it in gameplay. The original is floating around youtube I think. Not sure if the full song is but its in the character trailer still, at least

I used to only listen to Devil Trigger, Crimson Cloud and Bury the Light but after a while Subhuman became my favorite. I thought it was really trash at first but it's really grown on me now.

I agree, at first I really didn't enjoy it, but the more I've been listening to the battle themes, its easily my second favorite. I gotta give it to Bury the Light for being an incredibly well written song though.

Subhuman is one of those songs where you kinda have to listen to it a few timea before you can appreaciate it, at least for the usual person without a trained ear for music

I definitely wasn't super into Subhuman at first, it's a lot less listenable than the other battle themes. LittleVMill's cover along with listening to the original while playing other games helped ease me into recognising where I appreciate hearing it most. Definitely a sleeper of a song.
