I am a native Chinese speaker and it is jus so amazing to hear Dimash sing in Chinese (of course he is great in any language) he is such a genius vocally I think that’s why he could learn the song in a week and delivered it like he has lived it forever. Just see how many in the audience were in tears.

I think he feels the music & lyrics in his soul and his hand gestures and posture all are inbred into him. He hears the song in his head before his performances as his music director has explained on some of his interviews and DIMASH knows A ~ Z how it should sound and I think his body language and hand motions all come naturally with how he feels enhances the song and transfers those feeling to us in the songs he will perform. He is very stubborn and sticks to his way, the way he thinks the song should be sung, he listens to advice but in the end he has the final word. He is our PRINCE OF SONG & everything from beginning to end of that song are part of Dimash and how he feels the songs in his soul and he relates that emotion thru his voice, facial expressions, body and hands movements to us for us to feel. That is why he draws our whole soul, body, brain the works into him when he sings.

One of my favourite Dimash song.The most impressive is that Dimash does not speak Mandarin and He learned this song phonetically in one week and native speakers say his pronunciation is very good. Thank you. Dimash is musical story-teller. His entire life has been music. Dimash was asked once about his hand movements when he sings, I don’t remember his exact words, he said basically, that he didn’t think about it, he is in the moment of the song. Dimash immerses himself in the song, notice just before he sings, and just after he finishes. Dimash becomes the song... Dimash is the song when he sings.

He probably does think through the big gestures in advance to some degree but his small hand gestures are more like to visualize the melody he is singing, his hand and fingers playing the invisible instrument - his voice. Quite a few singers do it to some degree. It was especially obvious when he improvised Know for the first time at is Moscow concert - his hands were in constant movement dancing along the melody as if leading his voice.

If you are going to react to Dimash - Daybreak remember to chose the version from Bastau concert as he had really big trouble with his throat in I am a singer version. I think he has a lot of his performance with gestures naturally. He is never "out of character"for even a second and it all feels natural.
