Don't think anyone has brought it up yet but you've probably found out since recording this video, buuut this is actually the opener to the album hahaha. They just went ahead and said nah, let's put the 16 minute masterpiece at the start of the album, why not! Cool channel man, great chops on the guitar too and glad you're digging Periphery so far. Maybe give the band Caligula's Horse a try, they're not djenty but they're a modern prog metal band with amazing guitars, the song Dream the Dead is 10/10
@alekoshred3 жыл бұрын
Yes, thats another reason why i love those guys, they just dont give a fxck and have a sense of humor 😁 alright, thanks for the recommendation, will consider it for sure 🤘

@@alekoshred Oh that suggestion wasn't necessarily for a video, check it out in your own time! You seem to dig guitar solos, and that song already has some really tasty ones. Have a good day man 😁

Great video as always. Absolomb is a fantastic showcase of their work. Spencer's vocals on that song are something else. Definitely give it a listen.

13:48 I felt that realization xD They do motif references soooooo well, it's like playing a game with the audience "Let's see if you've been paying attention or just rockin out" If you want to learn more about Periphery games, check my other comment.

Since I dont see anyone mention it, the deep voice in the middle part is vocalist from the band SikTh. They are a big inspiration to Periphery! If you like Periphery you should definitely check out the band Slice the Cake and song Castle in the Sky part II, they match Periphery in every aspect.

"Sounds like an intro to a movie" That's how you listen to Periphery songs. At least for me. Particularly lengthy song like this. View it as a short movie rather than a long song. The epicness really comes to live

Absolutely, can't agree more 🤘🤘

I feel like more people need to think of music like this. Especially albums. Especially concept albums like Juggernaut or anything from Haken lol.

Really pumped to see you react to this song already, thought it might take some more time! I think as long as you listen to Periphery besides from reactions, it is safe to say that this song will stick with you. Was the same for me a lot of people I know. The first time it's good, but a bit much to take in, then you listen to it again some other time and then again....and again. Takes some time, but it got me to the point where I listened to it about 5 times a day for months. Anyways, really great to see you experience this song for the first time, and if you liked this one you should definitely check out "Satellites", the last song from this album. It's kinda like a mixture of Reptile and the parts of the other songs you listened to on this channel that really hit home for you. Take care my friend, I'll be happy to see what else I'll get to see on your channel =)

i'm eager to find out what other songs from the album are referenced in Reptile, but i'll wait till i get to the point when i've listened to each one and then try to find out myself 😁 and Satellites is my absolute favourite song by them, i found it before i started with reactions and listened to it several times a day the first week, at that point i decided i should check out these guys more in depth 🤘
@julianroese98954 жыл бұрын
@@alekoshred I won't spoiler any references then ;) Glad to hear you alreay know of Satellites, and even more that this great song was your introduction to the band!

Game idea: - turn away from the screen - when a new part starts, turn to the screen to see if your and his head bobbing match - if they match, you get 10 points; if they don't, you get 10 points - you win automatically because you're having fun listening to Periphery Can be expanded by the "mirror" DLC to check if the facial expressions match; same rules apply

great reaction dude. The second half of the song is my favourite part of the song when the song slows down for a while and the melodies really come in. The solo cover was unexpected since I wanted to request that song after my other requests. I hope after crush, omega will be next on the list. Or even better racecar, which is by far, in my opinion their best instrumental piece(vocals not that good in all honesty).

Dude love this reaction. This song is unreal. Small note, I think your microphone is meant to stand vertically with the flat side facing you ( not pointed at you). Let me know if I'm wrong ❤️

Thanks for the sub mate, you're most probably right about the mic, i just don't have a classic stand so i improvise using my table drawer and trying to make it stay in place 😁
