One thing I will say about Spencer's vocals, is that I'm under the impression (at least for the first 3 or 4 albums at least) the words/passages themselves didn't really have any intended deeper meaning, or any over-arching narrative or message. I don't have any sources, but I remember way back when they were just starting to blow up they had a forum and they would occasionally respond to people's posts there (or one of them would), and one of the comments they made was something to that effect, that they just picked whatever words sounded good and to not read into them too much (several of their songs are lyrically apparently odes to Final Fantasy and Nobuo Uematsu - the composer of that game's OST). Definitely the melodies and tones he is choosing are important, but he's kind of the perfect example of "voice as an instrument". Musically he is there to contribute to the band in the same way every one else does through notes and rhythm, and that he is also managing to match those up to sentences of real words that make sort of sense together is just icing on the cake, as far as I'm concerned. But I might be totally wrong, too. Idk it just doesn't seem like they've ever taken themselves seriously enough for the lyrics Spencer uses to be performed literally and sincerely.

Have a blast is one of their most underrated songs. It's so sick. Super catchy and fun but also guitar god worthy riffs the whole way through

Many vids Arnold is compared with classic bodybuilder.. but he is too classic and huge for fittin in.. Too many Cbum n Arnie comparisions in the reels .. They are 2 eras apart.. that does not reduce Arnie to Classic category.. He was taller than Sergio.. he was not bald.. he had great stage presence.. great posing.. great camera men to shoot in different angles..and bodybuilding was entertainment then.. all this with primtive equipment, nutrition and science..what would a modern day bodybuilder with Arnold level hunger fare n look today? btw...how much was the paycheck in 1980 Mr O??

Is it strung the correct way but the body just upside down or is your high E on the top?
@alekoshred7 ай бұрын
High E on top brother 🤘 it's a typical right handed guitar, strung for a right handed player, I just hold it upside down 😁 gives me all the choices in the guitar shop, this way I'm not limited to left handed guitars only
@doomsayr_x7 ай бұрын
@alekoshred holy smokes bro. That's fucking amazing. I can't imagine how hard that was to learn. Even reading tab would feel different. That was super smart to force yourself to learn that way. You should be famous. Even hendrix just strung the guitar for a lefty right? I'm impressed

Mate thats incredible , you should try to do more lessons , jut a word of advice to make the videos even better is getting a higher quality camera , adding on tabs with numbers for the beginners and also ( i know this may sound silly to you , no offence though ) can you hold the guitar straight at its normal position ? i get confused when its upside down .

I love this song, and glad to see another reaction to it, but oof, man, what is with the sound quality of the song in this video? So badly compressed. (In the codec sense, not dynamic compression. Sounds swishy.) Did you download it off Limewire or something?

It's so funny you mentioned Omega into stranger things is like going from hell into heaven, because quite literally what is happening in the story of the album LOL I'm not sure if the protagonist goes to heaven, but Omega is about him being in hell, and stranger things about him escaping It's a concept album btw so that's why there's a big overarching story. Spencer explained the whole story once

The funny thing is if you Google habitual line stepper, it says song by Periphery but the first video it shows is Chappelle's show lmfao right at the top of the page. It's definitely a reference to that. Periphery loves referencing shit they like even if it's irrelevant to the song This is the best song on the album hands down and you said it perfectly. Best melodies, and heaviness and its one of the things that makes Periphery great. The way they can transition from heaviness to beautiful music is flawless and unique. No one does it quite like they do
