i liked the first video more because it was more clear about the fingerstyle pattern for the chords

Yeah a picking pattern would have helped a lot. I am going to give the finger picking just by string number with number 1 being the high E string. It sounds pretty close but may need some modification. Chord 1: 6,4,3,4,2,3,4,3,6,4,3,4 Chord 2: 5,4,3,4 Chord 3: 5,4,3,4,2,3,4,3 (x2) Chord 4: 6,4,3,4,2,3,4,3 (x 2) Chord 5: 6,4,3,4,2,3,4,3,6,4,3,4 Chord 4: 6,4,3,4 Repeat

Is this the strumming patern for the bridge? He's just playing 5 chords and he didn't repeat chord 3 and 4??

Thanks for these two "Oceans" videos. I've looked high and low for a tutorial of Oceans with capo 3 and yours is the only one I've found. If I could offer some critique, though: your video would be more helpful if you had chord charts somewhere. It's really hard to keep track of what you're playing when there's no visual help. Also, not everyone uses "nashville numbers." I've got enough music theory background to mostly follow you when you start using them, but it would be good if you'd give the chord name as well. You're also very inconsistent with naming the chord as you play it- sometimes you say it and sometimes you don't. Again, that just makes it hard to follow what you're doing, especially since some of these chords are very similar in shape. Just some thoughts on how you could make your videos better teaching tools.

Couldn't quite grasp the chords in this second video. Prehaps if the camera had been angled differently, it would have helped.

Thank you so much for your tutorials! It sounds really beautiful :) Just one thing thought, i'm playing the same thing you are (here in the bridge) but i can't figure out how it goes with the lyrics :/ the first part was easier to coordinate with the lyrics. Could you please please make a video were you sing along, or were its shown how to coordinate it at least for the bridge part ? So we can understand better how it goes? Cause i'm quite lost here :/ it would be highly appreciated :D

Great tutorial. Please play it out once, break it down, and then play it out again. It's hard to pinpoint the the exact place of the chords when it's played piece by piece. Thanks again.

Which strings do you plucke?
@alyssaroettger10859 жыл бұрын
+Sarah Jørgensen I didn't see this till now! The verse and the chorus you pluck the low E twice then the B and E. On the bridge it is harder because you switch around with the chords. But it looks like it is just the bass note up. :)
