I was sooo excited when I found out about the 8 string Alvarez!!!! Could not wait to get one. In fact, I ordered mine while I was undergoing shoulder replacement. I didn't want to wait for winter winter and shipping so I pulled the plug. It arrived mid November. I love this guitar! So much fun and like you said, it has the sound of a 12 string without all of those 12 strings to deal with. I hope this is a huge winner for Alvarez!!

Thank you, Dale, we love it too and are so pleased you are enjoying it. Hope it has helped the shoulder recovery too! 😉

I bought myself the 8 string for Christmas, and it is tons of fun! I immediately put 5 new songs on my song list to utilize it’s super cool tone. Bringing it to a gig next week to compliment / mix it up, with my #1 stage guitar, a RainSong jumbo… At home, I find myself playing the Alvarez 8 string much more than the RainSong, because it makes me smile when I play it!

May I ask what 5 songs you added? I also just bought the 8 string.
@jed1166 Жыл бұрын
@@dvanolya sure! Added some classic 12 string songs: “Wish You Were Here”, and “Free Fallin” … Added “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, and “High Life” by Steve Winwood, because the chime sounds a bit like the mandolins in the studio recording. Added “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House, because the octave jump in the chorus vocals sounds great against the octave strings... Also, classic arpeggiated intros like “I’d Love to Change the World” and “Behind Blue Eyes” sound great on the 8 string, so there are several songs already on my list, that I will start performing on the 8 string, instead of a 6 string. I am going through my complete list,(about 80 songs), singing each one with the Alvarez, to see if it improves / matches my vocals better. Instead of straight strumming, try playing more arpeggio style, and a little slower… this let the octave strings really come through!

Lol... You can never have too many guitars. But if I were to get another one I would love to try out one of the higher end Alvarez Dreadnought guitars or even an MD60BG to go with my MD60BG. Some day..lol Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to all of you

Love it as always. I’ve just bought a Masterworks elite dreadnaught today as my Xmas pressie. Dee, is this recorded at your studio in Pelaw? I live about a mile away.
