Gujiya is a popular North Indian sweet of a crisp, flaky pastry. These Gujiya are stuffed with sweetened roasted semolina or rava, coconut and nuts and are flavoured with cardamom . Gujiya is a very common Indian sweet delicacy prepared during big Hindu festivals such as Diwali, Holi and Ganesh Chaturthi. It has several names such as Ghughra, Gujjiya, Gujja, karanji, Puli Pitha,Pudukiya,etc.
Traditionally Gujiyas are served as a snack once they are cold with other snacks and beverages such as tea and coffee.
Gujiyas can stay fresh for at least 2-3 weeks (prepared with semolina) if stored properly in a sealed and airtight container.

Ingredients
**for dough
Maida- 1.5 cups
Ghee- 2 tbsp
water- as required
**for stuffing
Sooji- 3/4 cup
ghee- 1.5 tbsp
coconut(grated)-2 tbsp
pistachois-2 tbsp
cardamom powder- 1/3 tsp
sugar- 1/2 cup
Oil for frying-400 ml
