That Move 42 Qh4 was a turning point for me. After the time control, while Gukesh was thinking of his Move 41, Amruta had run a poll on the live stream asking whether the viewers wanted Gukesh to play for a draw or a win. One needs some context here. Before that move Qh4, Firouzja had played high accuracy chess all through, even enjoying some advantage on the bar for some time. At Move 41, he must have thought that Gukesh is now going for a draw as there was a repetition. And then Move 42 threw him off. Gukesh decided to press and not repete. And suddenly, Alireza Firuozja, who had played high accuracy chess for 4+ hours, played some inaccurate moves. And finally when he offered the Queen exchange, the engine went decidedly in Gukesh's favour, who did not let off. Gukesh played high accuracy after that long think before Move 41. Sagar Bhai, if you ever get the chance, please ask him how far ahead in that line had he calculated when he had a long think after Move 40 (btw, it was 19 minutes and not 14 as you mentioned in the video). I would love to know how far ahead he had calculated, because despite falling almost 15 minutes behind after Move 41, he and Firouzja were quite equivalent on time at the end. So that was some high accuracy stuff at a very good speed at the end there from Gukesh.
